Yao has become the 3rd or maybe 4th option on this team.

Agree. This year's team is playing the most selfish ball since Francis Mobley era.

People who agree that Yao needs the ball more are just a bunch of stat junkies. Just because yao goes 25/12, doesn't mean that the rockets will win.

If you are a Yao fan, and not a Hoston fan, then fair enough I can see that you would like to see your favourite player excel.

For me, i love the ROCKETS, rather than Yao. And I want to see my team win the chip. This will not happen with Yao getting the ball more. He is too clumsy.

if team oriented approach means landry shoots 6/9, brooks shoots 3/6, tmac shoots 5/11, and yao shoots 5/10, I am all for that,

but if it means tmac 2/12, brooks or artest 3/11, yao 5/9, I just do not see the point to let our guards continue shooting around 20-30%

No one's saying that they want Yao to get 25/12 because it'll help their fantasy team. The fact is, whatever offense we're running now isn't working and one of the easiest ways to pinpoint the cause is that our most efficient player has slid to fourth on the list of go-to guys, which makes no sense at all.

    So what's your point?
Yao should get 9 shots a game? Or even less?
Even when our gurads shoot below 30%?

Bull****. Don't play the *** card again . Do you rather see Yao goes 25/12 or Brooks goes 6 for 17? If Yao's 25/12 won't give Rockets a win, Brook's 6 for 17 is going to make Rockets a bottom team in NBA.

people.. leave Brooks out of this.. none of this is on our role players.. especially not the one who has been our greatest offensive constant this season..

I haven't posted for quite some time, but your post calling others Yao fan was quite ignorant. WE LOST the game! WE didn't "EXCEL". It's not about stats, but rather facts. If Yao went 25/12, we would have won the game easily. If TMac was 25-5-5, we would have won the game easily as well. But they didn't.

With Yao 5-6 in the first half, there was no reason to go to him only once or twice in the third. Call Yao clumsy all you want, but he's been clumsy all his career. It's harder to get him the ball deep in the post than have TMac receive the ball at the mid-court, but as long as he can score, coach and team should have made extra effort to get him the ball. By the same token, if Barry was hot, the team should set multiple screens to free him up and give him shots. That's team basketball and winning basketball.

I am perfectly fine if we win with Yao 5-9, or even just 1-2. But after an embarrassing collapse, failed to get Yao the ball while everyone else was jacking up shots, some random poster came out acting as "a true Houston fan", and pretending we did some thing right to lose the game while keeping Yao's touches low because he's clumsy? That's utter BS!

One more thing, last year Rox beat Duncan/Manu/Parker Spurs behind Yao's 25/9, this year Rox lost to a Ginobli/Parkerless Spurs with Yao's 9 total shots.

The way things are going, we might not even make the playoffs.

We won 55 games last year using a modified JVG offense. We should stick to that, cuz it works.

And, all this stupid crap about Yao Ming only fans is stupid. Just because someone wants to see Yao Ming succeed doesn't mean they are only rooting for Yao. We NEED Yao to do well or we will not succeed as a team.

If Yao wants the ball, he should go get it.....there were enough bad shots to where he could have owned the glass and gotten tons of put backs.

Has anyone considered that the Spurs were aware that Yao wanted the ball and designed their defense for him NOT TO GET IT?

Yao was not the problem......Tmac and Artest being redundant was.

The Rockets are missing that extra floor spacer when T-Mac and Artest are both in the game. Battier was that guy last year. I'd like to see us experiment more with Artest at PF and maybe T-Mac and Barry/Head/Wafer on the perimeter -- at least until Battier rejoins the team. It will spread the floor, allowing for better penetration lanes and better post up opportunities for Yao and Artest.
