Awesome! The annual "Yao is fat!!" thread has rolled around, that means the offseason is practically like, half-over already.
Here's some translated articles about Yao's progress. http://sports.tom.com/1019/1094/2005712-643158.html http://sports.sohu.com/20050712/n226271774.shtml
Before it's out of control, the mods here may need to consider making a sticky thread "Yao activities in china" or something like that. Otherwise half of the threads on the front page would be about Yao. Just a suggestion.
lmao, so true. if no one said anything i wouldn't have even thought he was fat. that's clearly his shirt blowing out. he needs some sun, but he looks healthy and i'd rather him carry a little weight than be that pole he was in his rookie year.
looking at his Biceps or triceps to be exact, he looks like his been working those guns real hard in the iron room.... i say burn about 10 pound's and turn the rest into muscle. he dosent look overly Overwheight.
Great. Now how is the CNT supposed to win the the FIBA Stankovic Continental Champion Cup I mean, it's every hoopster's DREAM to win the the FIBA Stankovic Continental Champion Cup . I remember as a kid, practicing in my driveway, I would count down - five, four, three, two one! - and launch a desperation 3 pointer! SWISH - HE DID IT! HE DID IT! SAMFISHER DOES IT! They win the FIBA Stankovic Continental Champion Cup !!!!
Its understandable to be out of shape after surgery, but does anyone know how it went? I'm assuming ok, as no news is good news, but being back in China, IMO, hurts his rehab, but if he has a Rox trainer/therapist, then cool...
Yao had dinner with Boki, Parker and Collin. Here is the link to the pictures: http://sports.sohu.com/s2005/yaomingparker.shtml Yao also had a media conference. I am too lazy to translate the article so I am not going to post the link. A few interesting points: Someone asked Yao why he didn't get many rebounds, yao said one reason was he wasn't aggressive enough for the rebounds, also he needed to improve his rebouding skills and he has been focusing on that for the last two weeks. Yao also said he learned a lot from Deke and the increase of blocks near the end of last season was due to the learning; he kept asking Deke questions on the plane (on the road?) and Deke was always very patient and talked a lot, Deked talked so much that sometimes Yao didn't know what he was talking about.
Yao Ming predicts 2008 medal glory By Chen Xiangfeng (China Daily) Updated: 2005-07-14 05:59 Houston Rockets' Chinese centre Yao Ming expects a medal finish for the nation's basketball team in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. "I am looking forward to a better result than eighth place at Athens. To win a medal on home soil is our goal," said the basketball icon yesterday in Beijing. China advanced into the quarter- finals of the men's basketball at Athens thanks to an amazing 67-66 upset over world champions Serbia & Montenegro. It is the second time China has got so far and it was the best result they had ever had. But Yao is aware that China's basketball team urgently needs more chances to compete with the world's top teams to achieve the goal. READ MORE HERE
I love how the headlines exagerate what Yao said. All Yao said is that he hopes to finish higher than 8th and they are shooting for a medal.
lol. the boki colin pic is funny. boki: see what i can do? colin: you done it all wrong... they are supposed to come out from here... see... btw, the desperate wife is hot.
Man that parker/longoria picture could probably have gone for a lot if sold to some celebrity magazines.
