These are crazy demands on a 310 pound player who plays hard on both ends...He's constantly moving , and there is no way he has enough energy to just push his defender all the way to the basket every time.

Be happy with the production you're getting.

That's so true, and I believe lots of them will permonently stay as a YOH after, for example, seeing Yao got blocked by Nate or something like that.

I'm sure noone is more frustrated by the 6 TO's than Yao himself. He is such a perfectionist and hard working player and we can see that he corrected it immediately in the second half, didn't he? Speaking of "dunk more", it's already too old a topic which doesn't deserve any further discussion. What? "Make the layup after being fouled"? You seem to forget how many times we have seen Yao's And1 plays, some times back to back And1's.

This is just to show how easy people take thing as granted or worse, easy to forget. Don't let the frustration affect your judgement.

YAO did overall good job last night, especially nice defence on their number 7.He just need stops dribbling, catch and shoot. I can remember at least 4 this type of TOs

I hate to say it but Yao is going to have to put up the quick baseline spin for a while. It's not as explosive a move as it was before the injury.

He just needs to quit the turnovers, sometimes I think the refs let to many calls go; which cause his turnovers to go up.

It may look boring, but if Yao is within 8-15 feet from the basket, his best move will be to just turn around, face up, and shoot. The baseline spin move, which worked so well for him early in the season and last year, doesn't seem to be working right now. Maybe his timing is off. Or maybe he's tentative to put too much pressure on the right knee (that's the one that's hurt?).

I'm sure the Rockets are tracking his efficiency on various types of moves very closely. If they say that he's most efficient when he just turns and shoots, I believe them.

I hope he spends this upcoming summer -a season where he has no obligations- to master that jumper. I think that's the next step to greatness. I'm talking about a 30 point-per-game Yao for the whole season...now that may be stretching it but I never thought he would ever be the 25 ppg that he is now.

No surprise. Yao always kills the half-court teams.

I think Yao is doing great. But on the other hand, he could be so much better.

His size is unmatched and the shooting touch is up there with the best in the league. This combination is extremely rare. There are short stretches when he would score 15 points in 5 minutes -- in fact, it takes him 1 second to catch and shoot a mid/short range J with a high success rate.

This efficiency is exactly why in a game where he scores 24/10, he could still appear to be out of rythem much of the game. The fluctuation in performance is what drags down his game right now. I think that's mostly because he can't maintain the aggressiveness and confidence for the whole game -- the kind of confidence you see in MJ and Kobe. If he could work on that, I can see him average 30+ ppg, and 60-point games wouldn't be too hard for him.

FOrget the TOs, they are an issue, but just a minor issue. Skills wise, he is fine, except maybe he needs to work on the stamina a bit.

i totally agree with this. he was killing me last night. being out for 32 games doesn't mean you wont be able to hold onto a ball. he doesn't need to be given a break on that front.

Yao is going to have a tough time scoring 60 points in a game mainly because he cant play big minutes and he doesnt shoot threes. I agree though. I think one day he could hover around 30 ppg if the refs ever decide to call officiate him correctly.

You guys are so mean. Yao is MVP of the game, while everybody else lose their shooting, this would be a lose without Yao.

5 TOs, big deal, go calculate the efficient number, no doubt Yao has the biggest impact to the game, even Hayes can put up double digital lately.

    10/17 @ 32pts ,14 rebs, 3As, 5TOs

    =

    8/17 @28pts, 13rebs, 3As, 3TOs

    or

    9/17 @30pts, 10rebs, 3As, 3TOs

    or

    Have a decent referee
    10/17 @ 36pts 15 rebs, 3As, 3TOs

Does that make you guys feel better? Or you guys just allergic to TOs?

Give big fella a break, stop whining!

He is going up against strong guys who know how to defend and get help with the double team. Its not like he can just go anywhere he wants. If that were the case, why doesnt shaq or dwight howard just catch the ball a foot from the rim and dunk every time, or why dont Kobe and Lebron just drive by their guy and score every possession.

Plus its not like the passer gets to hang out all day and lob a pass in. They get pressured as well and there is usually only a second or so when the passing angle is there and Yao is posted.

It is rediculous how so called Rockets fans bash Yao when he scores 32 and grabs 14 boards, and bash Tmac when he is one assist away from a triple double, and the Rox win by 10.

How bout you go dislocate your finger, tape two fingers up on your dominant hand, then go try to hold on to the ball with Foster behind you and Tinsley diving down.
