I don't understand high praise for Amare either.

    1. He is below average on defense....even Yao's worst nights and games, he still better than Amare. The Suns have almost no post defense unless there is enforcer like Kurt Thomas on the bench.

    2. It takes a team lot more to stop Yao than does Amare....Yao is probably one of the only players in the league outside of Kobe and Shaq who regularly gets double and triple teamed. How many players in the league can you honestly say can guard Yao one on one without any help...can you find same number for Amare.

    3. Amare is one better team, which may give him the edge....but still if I had to choose which player could lead team to title with same group players....I would more likely pick Yao....even though people criticize him for all of his weakness....

Before it's all said and done, I think Yao will end up with at least 2x MVPs and 3 titles. 2 with Houston and 1 as role player on another team.... I think he may have a year good enough to win the MVP, because of team surronding him

when u are on a team that constantly advances and always have the best record and things like that, you'll get talked about a lot.

individually, tmac and yao are better than most players, but their lack of success causes people to think otherwise

I'm pessimistic if Yao will be a superstar in 2012. IMO the punishment that Yao takes through a whole NBA season and carrying the CNT through the Olympics and international competition will catch up with him. Super tall players haven't had much longevity and I fear the same thing might happen to Yao.

Ian Thomsen is a r****d. I don't know how you could overrate Parker any more.

Now this, this is a great example of how a player gets mislabeled through team result.

Much unlike the retired "legend" of SA, David Robinson -- always charmin soft.

And Amare isn't too hot a pick on logic either, though he definitely is hot as far as being the consistent standard-bearer or poster boy for unearned hype.

like i said many times, winning overrates many players (parker, ginobili, reggie miller)

lack of winning underrates many players (our very own tracy and yao, esp. tracy)

Though Chinese am I, I agree with you! Long man's injuries are big killer for them unless he developed skyhook or being Brad Miller like a SG playing
