Do you know for a fact it was just a graze and Yao faked his reaction, or is it possible you are incorrect and Yao had a normal reaction when you get poked in the eyes. Is that so implausible? Or are you just going to believe what you want to believe and plead ignorance? Don't bother, I'll do the ignoring this time.

Dont' bother with him. He has some superiority complex where he thinks join date is correlated to higher intellect, which couldn't be the furthest from the truth.

actually you guys are missing the whole point entirely why the media is harping on this...it isnt because hes chinese, or that nate is so short (well thats part of it) its because it shows that EVERY player in the nba ,including midgets like nate, are not afraid of yao and are willing to jump in front of yao since yao wont "flush it" strong enough....players know now "wow, if nate can block it so easily and yao cant flush it, then lets always go for the block since he wont posterize us "......thats what bother me the most...and thats whats the most embarrassing about this whole thing....it makes it look like even a kid can block yao and yao isnt strong enough to hold onto the ball and dunk it....yes he was fouled but it was waaaay after the block already accured....if that was amare he would have flushed it and broke nates hand on the rim....thats why everyone is laughing at yao. not because he is chinese, its because he is weak.

I think you hit the head of the nail with the hammer. Yao has great skills and I really like the guy - but he should have never let Nate get away, he should have pummeled right through him and at make Nate and others think twice about trying to block his shot.

It's probably the reason Shaq doesn't get blocked - no one has the guts to get in his way.

That block was from the weakside..Nate left his man to block the shot...and further more to forcefully move a player already using all of his strength in downward motion out of the way is damn near impossible.

It was a good block, but nothing worth reading into so much. Do you actually think Nate would challenge Yao on a dunk if they had lined each other up? No, he'd get out of the way. Nate would have tried the same with Shaq, because a) the timing was perfect, b) Shaq wouldn't have been ready and c) Nate is just that fearless.

Heres a Yao hater I found on Youtube. This asian dude says Yao stinks, is an embarassment, and should retire. His nickname is aznvincecarter, what a joke.

Interestingly enough, Nate jumped before even Yao started his upward motion. Makes sense, Nate would have to anticipate everything to have a shot at blocking yao. Seems like more of an amazing play by Nate then a weak play by Yao.

I think Yao needs to be a bit more aware of what's going on around him. If he was, all he had to do is pump fake and Nate would have collided and flipped over Yao resulting in a 3-point play or at least free-throws, and a very silly looking Nate. turns out Nate gambled correctly - and might have just gotten lucky.

    Yao - increase your awareness!

Good thing Yao isn't crying over it like some of his more thin-skinned fans.

He's moved on to the next game with 25-14-2.

    Call it a learning experience.

I really don't think Yao enjoys being poked in the eye.

He will not get blocked like this again.

    BOTTOM LINE

That was a great play by NR...he was ready to jump b4 Yao even got the ball...BUT...f'in great play.

Yao needs to tamahawk that sh*t...no doubt.

Either way...who cares...if you play long enough...everybody will throw your sh*t.

No, I think Yao will continue to get blocked by shorter guys. He just doesn't have the explosiveness to fly to the basket and dunk like Hakeem or Shaq. It's obvious he's hit the weight room pretty hard, but he doesn't have the natural strength, power, and explosiveness of Shaq or even Eddy Curry.

At least Yao is mentally resilient and can joke about it later. He gets dunked on a lot too, but that doesn't stop him from trying to block every shot.

Still, I wish he would've clobbered Caron Butler on that dunk today. I hate seeing Yao on the wrong end of the highlights.

Precisely, Yao will continue to get blocked or dunked, just like everybody else.

But hey, as long as he puts up 25/14 numbers, and the rockets win the game, see if I give a ****.

Stop worry abouting what it looks like or if Yao got dunked or blocked. Look at the final result .

Yao is playing at a high level right now and you are taking this blocking thing too personal because you want to see Yao look good, but you fail to see the productivity coming from Yao. So what if he got blocked, big F..cKing deal, look at his impact on the court. The rockets are the best defensive team, and I like to think Yao 's present on the court had to do something with that stat.

Stop worrrying about how Yao looks, and just look at the end result. ok ?

Can't Mutombu teach him some of his elbow moves? I've never seen them but heard that Mutombo would use his elbows to clear some space. If Yao broke a few noses I think he'd get a little more respect and more room to operate.

I really like to watch Yao play and wish other players would drive and dish (like VSpan does) to Yao when other teams front him. But it also seems like he gets man-handled and knocked over too easily by smaller players.

They're saying "not as good as Nate Robinson blocking Yao Ming" on every highlight during Sportscenter...

There's only one thing Yao can do to shut people up about what happened.

    Keep getting better.

No one will care about this stuff if Yao starts putting up even bigger numbers and I think he hasn't reached his potential - no where near it.

I think this guy is capable of someday averaging 40pts/game. Yes. I'm serious. He could do it.

If he ever gains anything close to Shaq like strength he will literally be unstoppable. No one could prevent him from getting inside, plus he can shoot well from the outside, plus you can't foul him because he shoots well from the line.

It's absolutely scary what might happen to him. His numbers are consistently rising every season.

If he does that again next year, people will forget about "the block"

For now, we just have to accept it as a low-light and hope it lights a fire under Yao.

Unfortunately, Yao will NEVER make anyone pay for embarrassing him. NEVER. We'll have to live with it. He's just that type of person. He gets bullied a lot but a lot of it is his own fault. Oh well, either his mom didn't raise him right or he likes getting the crap beat out of him. He'll either learn or, more likely, someday a gang of 5 year olds will beat the crap out of his momma while he watches like a lil' b****.
