it's not upper body, it's lower body. He could be built like a tank, but if he can't jump more than a foot off the ground then this will happen occasionally...en route to another rockets win. Who cares? good defensive play. rockets win. big whoop.
if its a foul, its a ticky tack foul, and is ofen not called. Anyways, I hope plays like this reminds yao to take to the hoop with authority, as he does from time to time. Refs will be less inclined to give yao calls if he makes if he doesnt start going up strong. Regardless, Yao is having one hell of a season...
ah my poor grammar- hey im just a rook! haha, i meant Refs will be less inclined to give yao calls if he doesnt start going up strong. anyways you get the point hopefully.
Study the picture more closely. Yao is much closer to the camera- and the closer subject will always look larger. Next, look at Yao's feet- he's in the air. Probably coming down from a jump. Look at Nate's feet- he's flat-footed on the ground, knees bent. Now, the size difference is going to be huge in any picture- Yao is 7'5" and 1/2 without shoes, I believe, and Nate is listed at 5'9" and is likely shorter. But if you put Nate in the foreground closer to the camera, have him in the air while Yao is flat-footed with knees bent, the perspective in the photo would be *very* different. Also notice in the ESPN version of the photo quoted in this thread, Yao's feet are cropped out. Coincidence?
And y'all have to temporarily stop whining about the reffing of Yao when he has shot almost 40 free throws in the last two games. He went to the line a TON.
Nate's timing is excellent, I bet he can block Tim Duncan as well. Yao has the misfortunate to play against Shaq. Compared with Shaq, every center is a failure, including your beloved Dream. Compared with Bill Gates, every guy on this board is cheap. It is just unfortunate.
It will be difficult for ROX to win a title, because not many people (refs) like to see an asian guy be a hero in the league.
maybe you never play sports, you do not understand what is stamina. everybody has his weakness, you understand?
exactly!!, break five ribs on somebody and no one will block like this. just look at how Karl Malone played

There comes a time when the best center in the league has to put on wrist bands instead of insisting on showing off that adolescent love bracelet. Yao needs to start wearing the heavy duty writst bands/armor that Ewing wore. The problem with dunking visciously is you can hit your on wrist on the rim and it hurts...not like I know anything about this personally...lol...but I've heard tell. If you slam the ball as hard as you can, no one will try to block you, because they will get their hand slammed right with the ball into the basket. Take the love bracelet off, and put on some armor, Yao! I love Yao. And actually, I don't care when people laugh at him for moments like this. I don't think he does either. But I do think he does not like the fact the ball went the other way for a slam dunk fastbreak. Plus, the more times people attempt to block him just increases the chance of injury. Take the love bracelet off and put on some real gear...dammit.
How about you also show the block hakeem had on KJ . KJ had a fast break dunk with noone infront of him, but hakeem despite givingup an unbeliveble head start, chased from the halfcourt line and blocked KJ like a mad man. tha play ws ledgendry.
