Great news to get a confirmation. But this is a very poorly written article. Bucher has always been a decent writer, but I almost stopped reading halfway through. STOP trying to over analyze stuff. Yao resigned because he wants to be here, period. No point trying to go into chinese customs and all that. He's just a loyal guy who wants to play ball and win.

The article was written "tongue in cheek".

It seems like Ric doesn't like the Rockets much and that he only supports Yao. Everytime he mention the Rockets its usually negative coming from the team as a whole, but yet he gives Yao some praise.

Great to see this deal is all done. No need to carry this out any longer than need be. Very happy for Yao and the Roxs! More than anything happy for us the fans

I think Bucher is commending Yao and taking a backhanded shot at some of the other so called "Stars".

Great news! :) This offseason has been nothing less than spectacular for the Rockets...now I'm interested to see in how they're gonna handle the contracts of Moochie, Ward and Baker...

Yao's great for our team and great for the sport of basketball. I hope the league realizes this. 'Cause all of us in Houston sure do.

    Go Yao!

    exactly....

That was one of those articles where he expressed his feelings by writing everything opposite of it. I thought it was quite genius the way he did it.

Looks like the current version of this article has edited this part about Yao coming back:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?id=2147660

I was wondering about that. I didn't think Yao would fly back just to do a press conference.

The edited version also corrects the part about Yao being a "two-time All Star".

Thanks m_cable. Yao seems to be pumped up and is more dedicated to bringing us a championship now that his contract issues is out of the way.
