Yao donated 500,000 to China Red Cross

    it is the single biggest donation by an individual. and yet he didn't want to spend a mere 20 bucks to buy a notebook charge adapter for himself on the flight back to shanghai.

    Rich People get big tax breaks for charitable contributions. So you save money and you help people. It is a win win situation.

    yao just needs to hold off for 3 more seasons. then he can spend his max contract however he wants to.

    i don't think they do that. but yao has a home in houston doesn't he, so doesn't he have to pay irs tax as well? so maybe he'll get some tax breaks in the US. but not in china.
