During an online interview hosted by sina, Yao talked about a lot of stuffs including he was drunk one time, comments on JVG and Battier, very impressed by Mabury's speed, etc.

    About JVG -
Yao gave example about how all the media and fans turned their attitue around on Del Harris in one night after the big win against in Olympics. Before that game CNT and Harris took a lot of critics. He said the Rockets now is just like the CNT of that time. And he clearly said 'just do our own job. Let others talk' (poor translation, I know I know).

    About Battier -
"I'm very happy Shane Battier joined the Rockets. He's an excellent team player. He may not have superior individual skill, but his contribution to the team shouldn't be underestimated. I learnt that when playing against him. Feel he's like a .... communist party member, willing to go to whereever (position) he's needed" (hey guys don't take that 'communist' joke wrong).

Please forgive me for not translating the whole article. Here's the link:

    Thanks for translating.
I think battier can be a great teammate, he has always been one of those players i would have loved to see on the rockets, i just hope Gay will not develop in an all-star :D .

He said he is impressed by Iverson and Marion's speed, not Marbury. ;)

Oh great, we traded Rudy Gay for a communist. This trade keeps getting worse and worse.

We had that whole thread trying to figure out a nickname for Battier. Well, we got it straight from Yao's mouth.

    "The Communist" :D

    Updated signature....beautiful.

If JVG is a capitalist and Battier is a communist, why does everyone think that Battier is a JVG guy? ;)

If we only had the Soup Commander still... I'm sure he and The Communist would have held down the kitchen pretty well together. :(

How about Comrade Yao? His mother would approve.

Hey is it really true that Yao's mother was a Red Guard?

The Rockets have about as much chance of winning an NBA championship under Mr. Van Gundy as the CNT does of winning it all in basketball in the Olympics.
