Anyone please provide me an update on the game of US vs. Italy. I knew that they were DOWN 56-69 in the fourth with Duncan turning it over like Yao did. ;)

I wish more successful stories for Chinese players in NBA, but you get to be realistic about it. There is no way Bateer can play 10mpg a game in this league, it's laughable someone even brought his Denver experience as a prove. (That team had the worst record that year?) Bateer had success in CBA because of his big body, and his slow footwork wasn't a big problem in the slow-paced CBA games. But his strength will be neutrolized, and his weakness will be exposed when play in NBA.

I like Wang Zhi-Zhi's chance much better than Bateer. It's too bad that the Mavs had Dirk playing the similar position.

BTW, Hu Wei-dong would have made rotations for most of the NBA teams at his prime. Unfortunately, he suffered several serious injuries late in his career. And Gong(1)-lu(2)-ming(2), current Women's NT coach, attracted some interests from several NBA teams when he was playing for Jiang-Su province. I still remember he sliced & diced a Bob Knight coached Hoosiers team in the 80's;).

China lost to Argentina by 10 (74:84). The Chinese used a usual 4th quarter meltdown (8 point vs. 22 point) to hand the game to the opponent.

Meanwhile, the US dream team six is currently down a meager 21 point to an Italy team that has no NBA players on the squad in the 4th quarter. Now I am the first to predict that the US squad will be shut out of the final 4 in the Olympics and make the #6 finish at the 2002 world championships much more tolerable as it is used to be.

    One problem, Slick.

That's not the team that will play for THE USA in the Olympics.

Anyone see the Italy team's playing? Back when they won the World Title days, their rough style made the Piston's Bad Boys look like high school kids.

What's there to be proud of? The team suck donkey's balls except Yao. This team is too slow and can't play D. Until all the older players are gone and the next generation of younger players learning to play the proper way. But until then the chinese people will have to wait another 3 to 4 years for China to become the top 5 elite team. By the way, seems like Bateer confident is totally shattered. Don't you worry about Ginobili. He'll show up when teh real Olympic is here. We all know he can play.

Again NBA doesn't have all the good players in the world. China did make it to the top 8 before twice led by good guards and SFs.

So freakin' biased. This CNT at least have a few young players with NBA potentials.

USA down 21 points! What can I say. Chinese guards are bad, we can stop talking to have them in Rox right now.

Well some of the newer US players are learning what it's like to be playing in the International rules and games with the more improve teams not like the 80s or early 90s. That's more like it. I like a close BB game not some blowout games like the US use to do. Take a good look at Hockey before and now for examples. Hockey used to be dominant by Canada and USSR but now there are at least 5 nations that could win it all.

Why do I have the feeling that Italy beat the US with their 3pts? These guys are train year round playing under International rules and are more a team. If teh US keeps on having a bad game they are history when the real Olympic arrives. As talented as the US team are, but I dont think many on the team have the competiveness and hungry like the lesser paid international players.

No wonder China had sooo many turnovers. Argentina seems like a very quick team and by the look of it, 108 shots attempted in 40 mins? Whoa!!

Hi, yipeng, yes, I am a Chinese American. I came to US in my early twenties so I do have my grammar problems. :p

Look, I love YaoMing and proud of what he has done in the NBA. But I don't understand why I can't have my doubt about whether he can achieve as high as some people expected. Same for the other Chinese players, I just try to be a realist and not a blind supporter (BTW, I think the kid YiJianL is very good and has great potential). I think Bateer isn't as good as WZZ and Wang barely made the bench. That is how I draw my conclusion. If you don't agree, you can argue with me, but please don't be upset. Remember most NBA and CBA players are black, and I don't believe that forbid African Americans to voice their doubts on those players too.
