That's how to beat the US team. International players are better 3pt shooters then the US because the 3pt line is closer to the baskets. China is a better 3 pt shooters then 2pt except Yao.

Okay I see now... Chinese team choked fourth quarter eh?

Alright... but it wasn't a blowout. In fact if China could have NOT turned it over once a minute they would have won. They've got potential.

I'd like to see a breakdown of where the 35 turns came from though.

All I'm saying China can't compete at teh moment with their horrible 2 pt shooters except Yao. They realizes on 3pt. International is a short game and 3 pt are deadly if and when they are hot. But obviously China isn't on their game today by the look and sound of it.

WTF is "International Hoops" for? I know this is in the GARM because of Yao, but there is little excuse for putting threads in here just "because an ex-rocket" or "because an ex-coach" is in a thread...

Italy is leading 35:20 in 2nd quarter!

Italy is supposed to be a weaker team in the Olympics.

Nice to meet you, WNBA-only fan.
I know I should not waste the time to reply this kind of post.
    But
Just curious why my positive something is so critical to you?

Comeon, that's not what you meant on paper at least. You meant international teams can beat US by jacking up 3pters, and use China as an example. Obviously you need to watch more Basketball. International players cannot beat US even if they can shoot from the half court.

I could be mistaken, but are you the one with yipeng suggest we sign Bateer as our backup Center? How was your beloved Bateer doing in the tournament?:p

LOL. You're telling me to watch more BB when you don't know what the hell you're talking about. What place did the US come in 2002 World Championships? China is a fundamentally more a shooting team then a penetrating team. Have you been following team China for the last couple of years? They've been jacking up more 3s as much as 2s. Kindly use your brain before opening you mouth telling people what they should know. Oh yeah who's kicking the US ass at the moment?

okay. why are you such a hater? judging from your grammar you're Chinese right?

why can't you just hope that Chinese players do better instead of always voicing your doubts on them? look I'm chinese american and i still will always have a spot in my heart for chinese athletes. it's about being proud of your roots. can you understand that?

plus i firmly believe Bateer will be a serviceable backup for 10mpg on the Rockets. this tourney has no bearing on NBA play. go look up Ginobili's stats if you don't believe me.

THe amusing thing about this thread is that none of it, not China losing to Argentina, not the US in trouble with Italy -- can be blamed on Steve Francis -- or can it? :p

if steve francis didn't hold Yao back the first year Yao would be better and China would have won.

if steve francis weren't such a cancer in the lokerroom he'd be on the USA team helping them. and i heard that he told KG and Shaq not to play and that's why we have no big men.

Can anyone provide a live score table for the US vs. Italy game?

BTW, once the Chinese guards solve the problem of TOs, they will be a force to reckon on in the international games. Otherwise, they will always struggle and finish no better than 7th place in Olympics or world championshps.
