They are probably tired of seeing Shootino jacking up ugly shots in regular games and can't bear the thought of seeing him do so in the All-Star game. It was so hard saying that as a big Cuttino fan.
Payton behind Nash? ...and barely ahead of Bibby?? J.O'Neal is the best forward in the East...he's going to get shafted by 2 injured guys...crazy.
I think a lot of votes from China or Chinese here went to Yao/Steve/Kobe, that is why Yao and SF have roughly same nubmer of votes, and Cuttino is way behind. I think if Yao wins, he will give up the starter position to Shaq. I hope so, that will take away a lot of pressure and ill feeling.
It would be beyond sweet to see Stevie and Yao start, but I would love even more to see Shaq's face when Yao humbly hands him over the position.
This I don't understand. I for one would be disappointed if Yao handed over the position. This is the All-Star Game, not the Highest-Stat Game, or even the Best-Player Game. This is a game about the players the fans want to see the most. And Yao, unless he's legitimately hurt, has no reason to reject the requests of the fans that they see him step on the court as a starter.
heech is right. Looks like we'll be seeing Yao and Steve at the AllStar game as starters. Keep voting everyone!
LOL!!! HA ha ha ha!!! He's the first rook to start ALL-FIRST TEAM since TD! Ha ha ha ha! I told you bee-yatches! And the crowd goes wild!!!!!
This is absolutely ridiculus if Yao starts over possibly the best center of all time. Yao is nowhere near what Shaq is and its a disgrace to basketball. I dont care what i get in reply to this it just isnt right. Yao is nothing to Shaq right now.
Well I'm glad we'll be represented, but I still think the allstar game is about the guys who are playing the best, so Shaq has the better #'s. Carter and Hill shouldn't even be on the ballots anymore. I think that Ming had more of an affect of bringing Shaq down to Steve in vote counts as opposed to Ming fans pushing Steve up to Shaq. If Steve was voted the allstar last year, wouldn't he have had about the same percentage of votes as he has now???
I would agree except that this is not the 1st time this has happened. Remember when guys like Grant Hill and Alonzo Morning got voted in WITHOUT even playing a single game that season. In this case, Collier was better than Zo. This year, Carter is getting a lot of votes without really playing either. I figured that if they could "start" over other players who busted their butts, this is nothing...sort of. Well, we could always point to records!
I do not think shark is best forever. Only thing he has is strong muscle. Basketball is a game and art. Did you see any art compnent from Shark's play? It's time to change.
Don't worry. You wont get a flame from me. And I'm a big time Yao fan. You're right. Yao isn't better than Shaq. But, he got the vote for two reasons. Ballot box stuffing, and he's one-of-a-kind rookie. I mean, when was the last time you saw a rookie take the league by storm? Tim Duncan, that's who. And I do feel I can say that TD was a little more polished than Yao is now. Yao lacks the strength and quickness that TD had as a rookie. BUT, Yao can compensate with his passing, free-throws, the ability to block shots and hit the 3-pointer. So, Yao's upside is better than TD's. So, it's not without merit that Yao is where he's at today.
Good point! Some of the basketball purist like Yao's approach to the game. They think it's refreshing. Shaq is more brute force. Not much "art" in that.
