There's no silver lining in this whatsoever. 6 freakin months. Just great.

Just incredibly dumb. Why the hell do you play your franchise center and risk this type of thing with no hope for playoffs? What was the point of this?

    This is just seriously upsetting.

No, I think they're making that up. In my opinion (not confirmed by any official sources) he'll be able to play in the World Championships. But of course he's out for the rest of this season.

I freakin' told ya. Why in the hell was Yao even out there after tweaking his ankle the night before, in garbage games?! I haven't spoken about our beloved coach, but JVG can officially suck an elf!

To quote Bill Simmons, this is a sucker punch to the gut.

This is the worst possible thing that could have happened. I can just see it now. All frikkin' summer long, every damn day, we'll be wondering about Yao's recovery, his conditioning, and his stamina. We'll wonder if he can sustain his progress. Remember, contrary to what everyone else is saying, Anthony Falsone attributed much of Yao's improvement to his physical, not mental growth.

And now, physically, at least, he could be back to square one.

I don't care about the rest of this season. Screw that. But this is something that will loom over our heads all off-season, pre-season, and could even linger into next season. If six months is the case, that creeps into training camp, that could jeopardize next year.

    What a pisser.

why didn't they take him out of game right away? whether it was serious or not, he should be benched immediatly last night. It made NO SENSE WHATSOEVER to leave him ouot there.

I will be     if it turns out to be a serious injury. Don't say I didn't warned you.

They said on the broadcast that it's a "Jones" break, a bone behind the pinky toe. I don't think it's major, but any foot injury is of concern to a BIG BIG man......look at Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

Guys, it's a real injury, but I'm pretty sure it's being played up. Yao wants to rest this summer, so what better excuse than a foot injury that will take him out 6 months? That's big time BS right there. Broken feet DON'T take 6 months to heal. He'll be back by next season.

Bill and Bullard said so during the third quarter.

The Rockets had better lose the remainder of their games, get a decent draft pick to help Yao out. Screw these stiffs.

I hate to play devil's advocate, but big Z's career almost ended with a broken foot.

This is very very bad news for the Rockets' future.
