Yao has joined the CNT in Beijing yesterday.

I do believe CD is invited to Yao's wedding and he will attend.

The rest of the national team is in Beijing. The senior ones had a rest day but the youngsters are immediately back into training in preparation for the 3rd FIBA Stankovic Continental Cup tournament to be hend end July in Guangzhou and Macau.

Yi Jianlian has committed to play in the tournament. But according to CBA Deputy Commissioner, Yao Ming will not attend/play the tournament as he will still need to nurse his shoulder. Nothing mentioned about a sprained ankle.

define "significant" and did it involve more than serving him coffee at the local Starbucks?

    Cheers,
    Brock

Can you provide us with the source? Have not read/heard about Yao Ming reporting back to the CNT. As late as yesterday's press conference by CBA, CBA Deputy Commissioner Wu Jiashi was still saying Yao Ming will probably be absent from the 3rd FIBA Stankovic Continental Cup to be held end of July in Guangzhou and Macau.

it's on sohu headline. u can see it.

CD sucks as GM. But as a fan, we dont care about your personal relationship with CD. Constantly posting negatives about CD is annoying.

Maybe you should get off his jock, Brock. We know you don't respond well when you're proven wrong, but let denniscd post and the info play out. You seem to be stalking the guy.

im not knocking him anymore...i did that, i apologized for it, i still know him to be a complete fraud, but im not going to continue belittling him here. but its funny because thats what others here do to the players coaches and management all the time and there is no groundswell of negative backlash

    Thank you......

Finally managed to get hold of a very tiny news article embedded in alot other major headlines about Guangdong Hongyuan Tigers not allowing Yi Jianlian to join Milwaukee Bucks.

    http://sports.sohu.com/20070717/n251101283.shtml

I suspected Yao Ming has to make a gesture to joining the national team as in yesterday's press conference, both the CBA Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner were complaining that all these summer training, USA and Europe tour arranged for the national team in preparation for the 2008 Olympics are going to be meaningless without Yao Ming's participation.

    I wouldn't think so either.

    It struck me as odd.

edit - I just reread the article and it states no Chinese coaches, teammates etc. I misread what they were saying.

    my bad.

here's the quote: Yao, 27, has settled on an exclusive guest list that will not include any Chinese basketball officials, team-mates or coaches, Lu told the paper.

*throws a tantrum to keep up appearances*

Yao had just arrived in Beijing a few hours ago. He will joint the National basketball team for some team practice. He did sprained his ankle both in Houston(before he went back) and in China (during his workout) however, both were very minor issue and he is 100% now.

    Thanks Andy.

You should come back more with your insider info.

So did Yao talk to you about how serious his right shoulder is? Or is his right shoulder a phantom injury that some nutheads on this forum said Yao Ming faked so as to shun his national team responsibility?

    Note:
In case, posters don't know who A Yao is, please refer to the following post.
