The Chinese national team did not arrive back to Beijing from the USA after their NBA summer league until YESTERDAY. and has yet to restart their training, and Yao Ming is still in Shanghai.

So I don't know WHERE AND HOW denniscd got this so-called breaking news.

All Yao Ming had been doing in the past week was acting as coach for the Basketball Without Borders Asia 2007 camp, appearing in all those charity activities associated with the BWB Asia camp (the intellectually disabled athletes the AIDS/HIV orphans etc.), travelling to Beijing to meet Shane Battier and busily preparing for his wedding.

I did not read anything from any of the Chinese websites, who all have designated paparazzi on Yao Ming.

Well.....maybe you have insider news/info that the rest of the world did not know.

But DEFINITELY you're wrong in your statement that Yao Ming sprained his ankle by his national team team mates.

I don't think there are any national team players left in China until maybe today.

    • The national team I were competing in the NBA summer league in USA for the past week and did not return yesterday. And I don't think they have recovered from their jetlag to immediately start their training and hurt Yao Ming's ankle.
    • The national team II, the 2nd stringers, were competing in Manila on a 4-nation tournament, involving Syria, Philippines and Lebanon, in the past week.
    • The U19 national team is currently competing in the FIBA U19 World Championship in Serbia.
So if you started out to say Yao Ming suffered a slight ankle sprain by Luther Head or Vlade Divac or Sasha Vujacic or Adonal Foyle or Matt Carroll in the Basketball Without Borders Asia 2007 camp, then maybe I believe you.

i tend to take pryuen's word over denniscd's.

pryuen's been around longer, and covers yao ming a LOT more than anyone else on this board.

    sorry denniscd.

Or maybe Yao Ming twisted his ankle or got stepped on his big left toe by those young basketball players in the BWB Asia 2007 camp, or when he worked with those poor intellectually disabled kids or AIDS/HIV orphans.....

Don't worry. Yao has a smart ass. He know exactly how to escape from "National Duty". I call this automatic timeout.

Don't let Yao Ming fanboys armed with semi-automatic rolleye graphics chase you from the board. We'll have to see how this particular piece of information plays out ... but it's been plainly obvious for awhile to me that you have insider knowledge (even if it's presented with a chip on the shoulder).
