Yes, that is true. There were so many reports about this injures in Chinese sites, but we tend to think all of them were false, now it looks like they are true.

If the most recent photos (posted by pryuen in another thread earlier today) of Yao walking, jogging, and running without taping seen around his supposedly sprained ankle are to believe, the inside scoop provided by denniscd in the first post of this thread ought to be hardly noteworthy to concerned Rockets fans. Then again, since this is the off season and we have constant lust for anything Rockets, let alone the Center of our attention, the news that Yao may have sneezed during a routine workout could generate lots of interest. So we can't blame denniscd for reporting it.

On the other hand, pryuen, despite the excessive use of rolleyes and red bold fonts in his posts of disapproval that may irk some people, including me, has perfectly legitimate reason -- supported by well researched facts -- to cast doubts on the validity of a piece of news, wholly or partially. Moreover, in light of the fact that the incident where Yao had slightly sprained his ankle during a workout in Houston prior to his arrival in China went unreported by the same insider, we may want to ask wtf with 1) being selective and 2) posting something based mostly on hearsay. Compared to number of asinine posts in this thread (exhibits 1, 2, 3), , pryuen's offense is far less objectionable.

While it'd be a disservice to CF.net should either denniscd or pryuen feel pressured to shun reporting Rockets related news, I think this board suffers from much greater loss if pryuen is on an exile.

he was presented many opinions by doctors after the season. dr. in alabama who is famous for athletes surgeries suggested surgery. another dr. disagreed. yao sided with a cautious approach but all dr.s agree hes going to need it sooner than later. but this summer would have been perfect. if we go deep next year then he wont have it due to the olympics.

yes, this is what I was getting at. the major news is that Yao's ankle was sprained, it brings up the lingering concern, that he is injury prone.

Pryuen brings valuble info, that goes without saying, but i think he took it a bit far with trying to disprove denniscd.

Yao looks like he is grimacing in pain.

Actually, I am abit confused now. On one hand, denniscd said that the sprain was minor. On the other hand, he comes back and says it is quite serious. If it is serious, why the heck is Yao exercising? And running... not lifting... running... :(

Any more news on this injury?

I believe he said the ankle sprain is minor, the shoulder issue is very serious.

This is a shoulder injury or a foot injury?

Quite a few different terms were being thrown around to describe Yao's injuries. I hope his shoulder is the only serious one now.

Thanks Deckard for the sage advice.

After some chill down and serious thoughts for the past 24 hours, I realized you're right in that I was too emotional and had taken this too serious.

I did not intend to mock or ridicule denniscd, but I just tried to clarify portion of his claim about Yao Ming sprained his ankle by a national team team mate.

But I might have taken it too far by excessive usage of red letters and roll eyes emoticons that made people thought I was mocking or accusing him for spreading a rumour, which I knew I'm not.

I am not to be set back by some serious criticism from Clutch.....

I am determined to continue contributing to this forum and sharing with other posters/readers my updates about Big Yao, cos as you said, I am a loyal diehard fan of Big Yao. And that is what is important.

    Thanks A_3PO.

Pruyen, you are doing a good job. Denniscd is also doing a good job. And it's OK with the emotions... we are all human and can lose control of ourselves at times.

Now if only Ballboy can prove himself to be an insider too :D

Thanks pryuen. I'll just say again there are plenty of people here ready to rip open false "insiders" and they do the job very well. You are locked in as a very unique contributor on information concerning Yao and can leave the dirtywork to others.
