I'm not going to go on some rant about apologies... it's a message board. But to act like you didn't doubt/mock him is bull****. denniscd said Yao sprained his ankle in a workout. It looks like it happened. It happened in a workout. You're clinging to the "against a national teammate" thing. denniscd said it best -- "Whatever". I fully understand people doubting posts with insider knowledge that isn't credited to a source, especially when anyone can grab an account and post it. But if you had bothered to even poke around at some of denniscd's posts you would have seen he had a good track record started for this kind of thing. It's a shame some people felt the need to be jerks to the thread starter before waiting to see how this news played out. That's a good way to make sure we all lose here.
He's absolutely right about Northgate Forest- it's between Kuykendahl and Stuebner on FM 1960 on the north side of Houston. Hakeem used to live there, about two streets past the country club. He had the letter A on the left gate and O on the right gate. When I was in junior college in 1986, I was walking by his house when he came out the front door- weird timing. I yelled out "Akeem!" and he went right back in, like he had seen a ghost (no, I was not stalking him). Stupid fan I was. During the 86 finals, his front lawn was littered with Good Luck messages. Ah, memories.
Clutch As alot of other posters pointed out, the thread was going astray when alot of people started to blame the Chinese national team for re-injuring Yao Ming as denniscd claimed that Yao Ming sprained his ankle in a workout by a national team team mate, without giving any details. I was just to clarify that part of his claim. If you thought otherwise, and if I am to take the blame as a jerk, which I know I'm not, then okay......I offer my sincere apology to denniscd...
Thanks for the scoop! Jeez, I hate seeing Yao get hurt. I hope this isn't too serious, but I assume it'll affect his offseason regimen. The shoulder problem worries me, too.
And probably I'll start my self-exile from this forum as I finally realize I'm wasting too much of my time here to be considered a jerk when I was only trying to clarify a false claim.
Take a chill pill. You blasted and mocked him because he got the circumstances wrong on a true news item. Yao spraining his ankle is major news. Who Yao was with at the time is minor. You jumping on his case was uncalled for and way over the top. Suggestion: From now on, just report what you know on Yao, which is what you do best. Leave everyone else alone. Phoney "insiders" have been shredded to bits on the forum before. Let other people handle it and stay above the fray.
Why is it that people who have something to offer often turn out to have some of the thinnest skin around? Both of you guys have threatened to take your toys and go home. You know what? That kind of stuff is some of the most boring posted on the BBS. Do you guys do what you do for attention, or because you are fans? If you're really fans, you post your stuff and let the chips fall where they may. If you know you are accurate, that's all that is important. And it is how reputations are made. Not by having periodic tantrums.
I agree. When I had lunch with T-Mac yesterday at Michelangelos, he also agreed that it's not about the attention, it's about the performance.
You need calm down too. What is a big deal of this or that report? No big effect on the Rocket at all.
OK, think about it this way, if Yao Ming read a fan forum after a bad game and saw several comments saying "Yao s**ks!"- do you think he would quit playing basketball?
Well, I have given denniscd a hard time - but have not doubted that his info comes from inside. I haven't always liked the attitude with which info was presented at first but he has toned it down a bit. While I defended denniscd to a point in this very thread I do apologize for my lighthearted hopping on his jock. the fact is the information presented in this particular thread was barely accurate at best. I don't think there is anything wrong with researching claims and deteriming the truth (which appears to be that he mildly sprained his foot here and then did the same there - but is running today) - which is different than the information presented (moderately sprained there against a cnt teammate). both Pryuen and denniscd have obviously added to the board through the debate on this thread and I don't think there are apologies owed by anyone other than the obvious folks (which I personally don't see as including Pryuen - unless he wants to apologize for the red lettering which might be best handled through example than through words). Regardless - keep the debate open, honest and civil and the truth will come to the surface. Now if you will excuse me I have no time for stalking today - work to do and little time... Cheers, Brock
Why would a partial muscle tear = 4-6 months recovery, or be the same as D-Wade's major dislocation? I get really concerned when I hear about shoulder injuries, especially after Bagwell. DD
