ok, kobe coasts more than tmac on defense the last 2-3 seasons. watch him play like i do. but kobe still gets first team all NBA defense? why => PAST REPUTATION.

believe me, reputation goes a long way.

u want to see who coasts on defense? take a look at the "first team all-nba defense" KOBE BRYANT. dude is horrible defensively this yr.

don't forget otis thorpe. he's a PF that can at least make a damn jumper.

    and kenny smith.

let's be real. outside of tmac and yao, our talent SUCKS. hakeem would demand a trade playing w/ alston :D

Wow - the difference here is that your level of greatness and mine are not the same.

I expect playoff leadership and wins, I expect Tmac to take the team by the short hairs and WILL them to victory if necessary.

I don't expect a Tmac lead team to lose to the Jazz at home in a must win game, I don't expect the team to cave in so often when they are challenged.

The difference is my expectations for greatness must be somewhat higher than yours.

i'm used to it. all my friends say the same thing. and all they can do is bring up? what about orlando's last yr? has he been out of the first round?

and then i ask them? name me one great player tmac has played w/? (outside yao for this yr, and yao wasn't "great" 2 yrs ago)

    and i get "SILENCE."

again, i say declerq and pat burke started as centers for tmac in orlando for MANY games :D

No one is above my criticism. I am like the eye of Sauron......I see all.....

    :D

Actually, I tend to agree with JVG a lot, but I am far more blunt than he is....because the players do not work for me.

i agree w/ u tmac disappointed me greatly v. the jazz. that has been basically the only game this yr where he just didn't make an impact in ANY aspect of the game.

but cmon, playoffs? again i say TEAM TEAM TEAM.

i dont think hakeem on that orlando teams would even MAKE the playoffs.

    Wow

You can say that for pretty much everyone.

I said, "pretty much everyone" so don't come back listing names.

I would not argue with you on this point for one moment. Kobe is a great offensive player and coasts on defense.

Which is why Michael Jordan and Hakeem were two of the greatest ever, they played both ends of the floor.

THAT is my definition of greatness.

again, there's a reaosn MJ and hakeem are two of the greatest ever. :D . it's very very hard to accomplish what they accomplished.

but then if MJ is ur standard of greatness, well i'm sorry, but u may have to wait a million yrs before another comes along.

and even MJ the great needed 5 yrs to get out of the first round. and by then he had phil, pippen, horace grant, paxson :D

Jordan had Pippen to make him look good on Defense. kobe has noone. he has to concentrate on offense now that he dosent have shaq to take the load off on offense. he just dosent have the energy to do both.

Look if you are going to be an A$$, expect to get slammed. You come in here and throw down a little ...."Oh Dada changed his mind again" comment which is horse **** and then you go....oh, but I am not on a witch hunt.

Then you post some cute little bit taking my quote and making it about me...instead of refuting anything.

I will tell you what, you explain to me how I changed my mind and I will be happy to let it go.

    Deal.....

    Batter up !!

and i'm telling you, i have a feeling if tmac gets out of the first round, he will "unleash" a new tmac version.

ppl say as the playoffs get slonger, it's harder to dominate. but i just have a feeling if somehow we advance past the jazz, the monkey will be off tmac and he just will play w/ nothing to lose.

and we could go all the way. i just have that feeling.

anyone feel like that? i think sometimes that first round series is a big burden on him. so if it's lifted, my goodness.

I think what you're expecting is McGrady working miracles when the odds have always been stacked against him.

He came close a few times, probably more so than most other players that he is often compared with.

Jordan looked good on defense because he PLAYED defense.
