i'm sorry. ONE PLAYER does not make a crappy team to bigger things. a great player can lead a team to the playoffs. that is all. MJ did that. took him 5 yrs to get out of the first round. tmac is on his 6th this yr (not counting toronto or last yr). took KG 9 yrs. kobe prollie won't ever get out of the first round at this rate. u need to know one great player => playoffs. that's all they can do. esp. w/ 7 games now, THE BETTER TEAM ALWAYS WINS IN A 7-GAME SERIES. again, u say tmac hasn't shown that "will to lead?". i can retort w/ => HAS KOBE as the main man? has wade as the main man? those 2 players are clearly 2 of the top 3-4 best players right now and they have not proven it. wade w/o shaq as we saw => .500 tmac w/o yao as we saw => .600 and tmac plays in the west. when the playoffs start, tmac will do his part. i have no doubts about that. it's whether yao can be with him for EVERY game on BOTH ENDS and the roel players stepping up. again, ONE PLAYER DOES NOT EQUAL TEAM GREATNESS. i go back? ask urself how many yrs did it take MJ to get out of the first round?
again, if u just IGNORE blindbury, here's the truth. the reason the trainer said that is b/c there was a CHANCE tmac could have returned in the 2nd half. that's why tmac got the head pad on on the bench and STAYED ON THE BENCH in the first half. therefore, they had anticipated tmac's return in the 2nd half. as a result, the trainer said he was fine. but as a result, the back didn't stretch out enough or loosen up after halftime, they then took him out. now is that EASIER to understand? the team thought tmac would return. tmac thought he would play again v. golden state. he tried to stretch too as he lied on the floor and the back never loosen up.
Fair enough points, and a well thought out argument. I hope you are correct in saying Tmac will lead the team. Actually, I don't have any doubts about him playing hard in the playoffs, I just hope it is enough. DD
So if Gundy decided to not tracy to put him back in just to make sure he dosent compound the stiff back, how does that make tracy a weskass. didnt tracy according to you're good self wanna comeback?.the point is, he did develope a stiff back early on in the warriors game. gundy didnt wanna risk it any farther. if anything it shows that mac is not a quitter and was still willing to play with a bad back in the warriors game.
You can't be serious...please stop backpedaling because I won't chase after you. I will let you be, DD, I am not on a witch hunt and I am not trying to make you look bad...I just find you somewhat amusing. Everyone knows you stole that from me. Even then, you're inconsistent with your dots...make up your mind, is it four or five dots?
No, because all the stuff I am talking about was in the first half.......the team changed their story at halftime. Look, whatever....it is a waste of our time to argue this. I think Tmac was loafing, got benched, and then the team protected him by saying he was injured.....then they decided that it may be best to rest both Yao and TMac (good idea - I had it a month ago)..... DD
ur points are valid b/c that IS the "general" perception of tmac. he's a loser. he doesn't play defense. he quits on his team. he never shows passion. again, if tmac doesn't win or his TEAM doesn't go far in the playoffs, those stigmas will stay with him. but those ppl who say those things don't look deep into the situation. i just need to tell u => tmac NEVER plays defense. u ask most fans that and that's why they say? now if u watch him play? is that true? NO. but it's b/c we actually WATCH him play. there are STILL some ppl who say yao is weak and can't dominate a game like shaq even now. but b/c that's the GENERAL perception they have on yao when they see the highlights. they don't WATCH him. u watch tracy. u should know he knows what he has to face against the media. this is HIS playoff series. his legacy will be made this playoffs. tmac will DELIVER. he HAS to
So yao is another quitter bacuse according to you. that logic you're putting forward makes yao just as weak as tracy. which is not true. there both great individuals and are great, great, great players. i call big Yao the big lion for a reason. he has a heart as big as Africa. same with tracy.
I am getting flabergasted that people can not seperate one issue from another..........it just boggles my mind that people can make the leap of faith that me saying he was benched in the last game, and now is being RESTED in this game proves that he was not being benched. I don't see a connection at all....so for the last time...this is what I THINK...it is MY OPINION. 1. Tmac was loafing last game and got benched 2. Tmac was healthy enough to play - per Keith Jones (asked 3 times in first half). 3. Tmac went in at half and told them he was stiff 4. Team changed tune and said Tmac was out with back stiffness. 5. Team decided they were locked into 5th seed and wisely decided to rest Tmac and Yao 6. If this were the playoffs both Tmac and Yao would have been playing.....and Tmac would not have been loafing last game. That is what I believe happened, nothing has changed my mind....and nothing will......so we can waste our time going over this again and again....or we can move on.....I am moving on. DD
People are judged by their action, and their body of work. Tmac has earned everything he gets, including the criticism. Tmac does not play hard on defense all the time- that is not a generalization, it is an observation. Tmac coasts a lot especially on defense, but he turns it on when the moment calls for it.....I don't mind that, whatever works.. Tmac has time to prove that he is a leader of men...let's hope he proves this year !! GO ROCKETS ! DD
i don't think tmac told them the back was stiff at halftime. i saw him w/ the heat pad on his back in the first half. i saw him lying on the floor in the first half. he hasn't done those things DURING A GAME ever since th efirst 4-5 games when he first came back from his first bouts w/ the back spasms. so they knew about the back stiffness. just b/c keith said nothing is wrong doesn't mean it's not. tmac said the back stiffness isn't serious. so keith said the same thing. he could have played but why? let him take this time to not only rest his back, but his mental mindset. tmac needs to relax. have fun. i want him to have smiles on the court like when he played the jazz w/o yao. sayin "you can't stop me" aroogance after that crossover on dfish. again, this rest will not only help his back. but his mental mind. his fg% has prollie wore on him psychologically. so take this time. relax. go out w/ his family and have fun. do something. forget about the game of basketball for a while. then come back refreshed. that was what happened when he first came back off of injury. he had fun. even after that dunk on kobe v. the lakers, i din't see that "ooh arrogance" that tmac would have when he dunks on somebody (shawn bradley anyone?) so again, be blessed for this rest. u want tmac's mind to be clear of any distraction. i think when he comes back, not only will his body be refreshed, but also his mind. and u know what happens when tmac has fun?
Tiger.....the only lose situation is your inability to understand cognitive thought, and how the arguments and situations are completely unrelated. But you go on and spew the crap that my opinions have changed.......even though anyone with half a brain can see that they are entirely consistent. I don't mean to unload on you, but it is getting absolutely out of hand that people are trying to point out that my mind is changing on every subject...which is NOT AT ALL THE CASE !!! I admit when my opinions change....this is not one of those times. DD
I completely agree with resting him. I just think that Tmac reached that conclusion before the team did..... DD
I'm sorry DD, but you are really an idiot if you question Tmac's greatness. He is easily the most versatile player to ever put on a Rockets uniform. He just doesnt have the Cassels, Horrys, and Elies surrounding him.
