Yao and the annoying Awww Shucks Clap

As opposed to a bonafide YOH like you huh? You and the YOFs should get a room together and fight to the death. That way clutchfans would be rid of the lot of you.

 

I'm a Rockets fan, not a Yao only fan (which is the stupidist sh*t ever).....but negative remarks about things that dont have an effect on the game??? are you serious???

How come no one is coming to David Carr's defence. I said his awwwww shucks expression was annoying too. Big freaking deal. It's not hating on him. It seems like if you get annoyed with something you are automatically a hater here. I've loved both Carr and Yao from the beginning. I loved Steve too but his damn skip across half court was annoying. Hell, my girlfriend annoys me when she cracks her knuckles but that doesn't mean I hate her. I do come close to hating her when she smacks her Rice Krispies though. The damn cereal makes enough noise on its own, she doesn't need to help it.

Some of you are way too sensitive. It's just people chatting.

I swear someone's gonna make a comedy movie starring Yao Ming.

 

Nowadays, when Yao does that "aw shucks clap" , it's usually accompanied by a dirty look and a string of profanities. Therefore, it is not annoying, except to the other team because shortly afterwards, they get EMBARASSED.

Now, please, please please PLEASE LET THIS THREAD DIE.

what annoyed me was when we had Sam Mack on the free throw line... I think he pretty much took the whole ten seconds each time.. took forever to shoot!

Not nearly as annoying as Adrian Dantley's 30-second ball massage ritual before each free throw.

 

I haven't read the whole thread, but if it hasn't been mentioned, how about Jeff Hornacek wiping the sweat off his cheek before every free throw. According to him this was his way of waving to his children during a game. Kids are cool and all, but THAT was annoying. Of course, him being one of the UTAH bunch that was such a drag for so long, that made it MUCH more annoying.

I also did notice that against Minnesota Yao did the "clap" again early on, and I was concerned, but things have definitely been going well enough for him that if he wants to do that silly little shucks clap, I'm cheering it on. At least it beats the cry baby look that so many players sport when things don't happen their way (And in my opinion, the bigger the star, the more lame that is, kinda like flopping).

 

Chris Webber makes the worst crybaby face of all time. It's straight up embarrassing.
