Maybe there's a hidden connection there as Rice = the alleged alma mater of the traderjorge/bigtexxx alliance?
I'm thinking HP. He's stated he's a BBall fan...not necessary a Rockets Fan. HP has told us this before. HP was from Rice...'RiceDaddy'? Even his arguing for the sake of arguing is what he's being called...HP had been accused of this before by others. I might be wrong though.
There's a dude named Hootowl who posting activity seemingly took a jump today...another Rice connection?
Isn't Carter a guard? As far as deserving goes, Carter's Raptors had a bad year and Carter was hurt for more of that year. If some of you are getting on Shaq's case for hurting his toe, then Carter is more guilty of this then Shaq ( except that Carter couldn't control his injury recover, whereas Shaq could ). But there were better forwards. Kenyon Martin, as you said, was one. Pierce was the other. Jordan had a better year last year then Carter. At least his team was in contention and he contributed to that. Can't say the same for the Raptors.
Hahaha, it's funny how you guys think I'm somebody. I'm Shaq. That's who I am. Eat at Taco Bell, kids. Now excuse me while I shove Kobe down Phil's ass. - Shaq
Hey Shaq, are you trying to get some votes from rockets fans? Don't be sad when fans do not want to see you.
This totally silly. I mean if I want Fat Albert to start over Shaq I will vote for Fat Albert. This aint got nothing to do with better stats. POPULARITY gets teh vote. I mean NBA ALL STAR game is a joke anyway since no one take it serioulsy. I say Americans vs. the WORLD would be interesting but it could be too serious of a game and GMs wouldn't like that.
Alright, so we can generally say that the All-Star game is a popularity test ( as I stated in the original post ), but that if we were to compare who was the better, more dominant center today, Shaq would be over Yao. And that even though this is true, we would all be rooting for Yao anyway, because we are Rocket fans. Agree? Let's end this.
As much as I envy your determination, I do not think Yao will win this time around. A lot of media coverage of Shaq's productive summer and many people will come to vote for Shaq.
I think it'll be close actually ( which was why this thread was made ). There will be a lot of people who will vote Yao over Shaq simpily because they are jealous of the success of Shaq ( I used to be one of them, I admit ) and that Yao is Chinese. I don't how many of you know this, but when Shaq's racist comments were leaked out by the media last season, everyone overreacted. O'Neal's done a lot of good things, he says a lot of goofy things, but he's not one of the league's bad guys. It's okay to boo him as a basketball player, but I think it's crossing the line to judge someone we barely know. All I know is I've rarely, if ever, heard truly bad things about Shaq aside from the toe surgury and his goofy comments. Rick Riley from Sports Illustrated once said that the best things Shaq did are the things he didn't do. Which is criminal activities, drug use, bullying people. Charles Barkley ( who is my favorite player of all time ) has thrown people outside windows and Damon Stoudmire has went everywhere with a toke in his hand, and for a big guy, Shaq's not that bad. If there's gonna be hate for the Lakers, I'd say direct more of that heat toward Kobe then the big fella.
