Sky-hook would not work in today's NBA!!! Why?? Because today everybody is playing physical basketball and bumping and grinding...not like the old days where physical basketball hardly exist.
I don't agree that skyhook no longer works these days. It's just as effective. But because the shallow kids prefer the more sexy and higher percentage dunks, people don't bother investing time on such skill.
btw, if you look at yao's highlight video in the other thread you can see he used two successful previous hooks to set up that final spin move to the basket on shaq. he's using the hook and using it smartly.
