haha, i wanna see steinbrenner fire torre on tv. press conference having him yelling "you're fired!" donal trump style
Yankees Lose! Yankees Lose! Thuuuuuuuu Yankees Lose! Now the MLB playoffs are 95% complete. For the other 5%, the Red Sox need to lose.
Score one for the good guys. Two Cleveland teams making their respective championship games in the same year? It could happen.
Glad to see the Cowboys win, but really wanted to see the Yankees win. I always enjoy a Yankees/Red Sox playoff series.
You talk about a tank job for an ace pitcher. WOW! When I heard Torre was starting him on 3 days rest I thought he was crazy, but Torre ain't the best manager when it comes to pitchers.
So no more "Hangin' Tough" for the Yanks, huh? Guess for Torre it's more like this: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lht_tdJQFbs"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lht_tdJQFbs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Fixed it for you . . . couldn't be happier to see both the Cubs and Yanks, 2 of the highest payrolls fail to make it out of the first round. MLB is going to be screwed for ratings from here on out, especially if the Indians defeat the Red Sox in the ALCS.
Would you rather have a team compete for the post season every year or have one that's more often looking from the outside in? And how exactly did they try to buy a championship this year? Their major free agent acquisitions this year were Andy (whom the Stros almost signed) and Roger (who was paid practically the same amount as he was paid by the Stros last year). Would you say that the Stros had been trying to "buy" a championship then when they signed Andy and Roger a few years ago? To the contrary, here's a list of homegrown talent for the Yanks that I can think of off the top of my head - Jeter, Cano, Cabrera, Wang, Posada, Hughes, Chamberlain, Rivera, Kennedy.
Do you live in New York or are originally from New York? If the answers to these questions are no, then how in the bloody hell can you root for the Yankees unless you are a bandwagon fan? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I loved every minute of last night's game. You always got to enjoy it when the Yankees get knocked out of the playoffs, especially in the first round! I think it would be absolutely stupid for Steinbrenner to fire Torre, but "Big Stein" is pretty much a douchebag and I would say that he is going to put the hammer down. This is arguably Torre's best year with the Yankees at 21-29 at one point in the season and that their pitching really never was that good (you're in trouble when Wang is your ace and he showed that he is not ready to step up in the postseason). For the Yankees to win 90 plus games and make the playoffs is an incredible accomplishment, considering their poor pitching, poor start, and injuries. Yet douchebag Steinbrenner thinks they should win it every year just because he owns the team. It is like he thinks a championship is his birthright. That type of attitude is why I hate him and the Yankees so much. And that is also why it is so f*cking sweet to see them fail and fail miserably at trying to win a championship. So, suck donkey balls, Big Stein, you deserve it - f*cking loser! And the way the Indians are playing, I would not be surprised to see them eliminate my Sox. However, if they do so, I will be pulling for them (the Indians) to win the Series as they have become my 2nd favorite team.
