Well, let's say that Cleveland is forced to pitch both CC and Fausto in Game 5, which I think would be on Wednesday night. They are screwed in Game 1 of the ALCS but they would probably pitch Westbrook. Game 2 - assuming there is a one day break inbetween games would be on a Sunday and you would have Sabathia on 3 days rest after throwing probably only 4 or 5 innings. However, I think they would be better off to pitch someone like Byrd for Game 2 and then pitch Sabathia for Game 3 and Carmona for Game 4. They would probably have a hard time winning in Boston anyway against Beckett and Dice-K, yet I can't see Schilling and Wakefield (unless Boston goes with Beckett in Game 4) beating Sabathia and Carmona in Games 3 and 4 in Cleveland. So the series is tied at 2. Game 5 would probably be Westbrook against Beckett again with Game 6 being Sabathia against Dice-K in Cleveland. Game 7 could be Beckett (on short rest) or Schilling against Carmona. The Indians would be far from screwed if they had to pitch both Sabathia and Carmona in Game 5 against the Yanks and then made it to the ALCS.
Well, for the longest time the rumors were that he, (he being George Steinbrenner) was going to let Brian Cashman go and then Torre. I do think that Cashman has a new contract but I might be wrong about that. If George is that stupid to let Cashman and/or Torre go, then Yankee haters like myself should hope that happens. Cashman and Torre are the main reasons why the Yankees have been so successful the last 12 years. Getting rid of either one of them or both would be highly idiotic, IMO.
Well, us Red Sox fans have gotten a little greedy. Plus it wouldn't be a big deal to me if the Yankees, all of the sudden, got terrible. But your team keeps winning, so there is also the factor of not wanting to see the Yankees win another title in the foreseeable future anytime soon.
Talk to Heath, the Norwegian soccer guru. He can tell you. Right now we are down to 24 teams as we have had contraction the last 3 years.
well, all is saved in Yankeeland. They have put Ron Villone on their playoff roster due to the Clemens injury
I think everyone would love to have a Steinbrenner as their owner. Though that wont ever happen. I have a lot of respect for teams like oakland and Billy Beane. one of the lowest payrolls in the league and continually contend for league titles and 90+ wins a season.
Seems like the Indians have it won. I know it's premature but I just don't think they can come back from 3 runs down two nights in a row. Bye bye Torre, and Roger?
LOL, as if we could get rid of Roger without a month-long "will he or won't he" drama, espeically now that Brett the attention crackwhore Favre is back in the limelight. Roger wil play as a closer in home games in months ending in "er" for $55 million next season.
