I agree. Yang Yi confuses asset/value for liability. T-mac's 20mil is a liability. His value is obviously far less than that, otherwise we wouldn't be debating why he sucks or how he can stop sucking. If we make a trade, we'll be getting another cancer from a different team. At this point best bet is to hope he starts playing better first and tempt some other teams to bite next year when he'll have an expiring contract for the following year--then we'll get some good value back.

Who in the hell is Yang Yi? For all we know, he could be the Chinese equivalent of Charley Rosen.

So this guy talks about why journalists keep players name unidentified to protect them but in turn loudly and clearly said Yao wants Mcgrady traded.

I really would like to believe what he says, but it just seems like he is writing this because he was lying in his previous entry

Or Yao does want him gone, and the organization is basically saying "SHHHH" we will try to trade him but you guys have to keep quiet about it, to help us get the best deal.

    Welcome to the spin zone.

Yang Yi was among the first three Chinese foreign correspondents in Houston covering Yao's career. I think he stayed there for 2 or 3 years ( not sure ). It is believed that he is very close to Yao. But some people said in my last thread that Yao and Yang used to be buddies, but they are no longer good ( i never heard about this). Anyway he is among the top3 basketball journalists in China, and showed up at CCTV as a commentator regularly.

Thanks. I'm not a journalist nor have I majored as one and the most I've ever done in journalism is have some photos and a few independent articles published by some smaller papers. As a news junkie though I've followed enough news to know that relying on primarily an anonymous source for a story is a recipe for disaster. Yang Yi and David Aldridge might be totally correct but just because they say they have an anonymous source doesn't mean they should be automatically believed without more evidence.

You need to check the article again.

"But from all media outlets, Chinese or American, local or non-local, you can read about how the team is stuck in a quagmire, about T-mac already irking the coach (of course the coach didn’t admit it), and about T-mac criticizing Yao for being too soft and Yao wanting him out (which they didn’t admit either)."

He didn't say loudly and clearly that Yao wants Mcgrady traded. He was refering to what was on the media. Since you are what you call yourself Hongkongnese (if I remember correctly), maybe you can check the original Chinese version, in case my lame translation confuses you.

    I'm apologize if I made a mistake.

Though in the previous articles you strongly emphasized on the fact that Yang Yi and Yao are close friends, and Yao personally told him stuff, so I assumed that Yao personally told Yang Yi these things, which he "kept a secret" with.

So I found it ironic how Yang Yi is currently doing his best to made all non-credible source credible, whether they are justified or not.

Actually that was only my speculation. I assumed that Yao told him stuff. Pure guess.

It's pathetic that we are acting like Holmes and combing through news pieces for clues.

Now I think I shall just keep quite and wait.
