If the Rockets were in the East you could do that.

    Boo Chinese National Basketball Team!

Hoping they get their ass kicked really bad early on so Yao doesn't have to play in that many games.

Put him on the trade market, i would guess 90% of the rest of the league would be chasing after him.

After China embarrasses themselves in the Olympics Yao and the Chinese peeps have to realize they have no hope in these future tournaments.

they will lose early and fast, so he'll have time to rest before the important rockets season starts

True. Didn't say I was for trading him, but a healthy lesser player would be better than a player who can potentially be injured come post season or be so fatigued that he sucks it up.

I'm all for Yao staying. I like the guy. I think his injuries have been aberrations. I don't want him to go anywhere. Just if the trend does continue his stock will probably drop even if we do someday decide to trade him.

eh... for this years number one pick and another draft pick between 2-10 I would, don't know how it would work tho. I really like this years class in the draft.

In America, you can choose to either put your employer or your country first. Regardless of his contract, Yao's choice wouldn't be any different. We should respect that.

Everyone includes Yao knows they don't have much chance. But Yao has too much pride to still participate in the event and try the best he can be, unlike chickens like you who would back down from a challenge if you don't see much hope of success.

I agree. I forgot what forum I was in and was addressing the money vs. patriotism subject more than the Chinese National Team vs. Rockets issue.
