What people are forgetting is that this year we are not a championship team. We're not even close. What I think Rick Adelman is doing is giving the young players time to develop for next year when Yao comes back as well as who ever we can get with Tracey's contract out of the books (even though we can't afford a max, we can still afford an elite player). This is precisely why Adelman is allowing Ariza to shoot like a mad man. I see potential in him but not as much as going 3 for 20 and not getting benched. But again this is why we are all on the forum rather than getting paid millions running the team.

I think that Tracey coming back will make us a better team but not a championship team. Yes 21-0 half without yao but he was at 100%. When/If he comes back he will be maximum 75%. So if he will not make us a championship team and he will not be here next year then why should we take away from the chemistry and the experience these young guys are getting, especially if we can save a few bucks.

At this point we can argue in circles, no one really knows. Buy out, trade, or bench him (don't think this will happen).

    14.3ppg .560FG% 8.1 RPG

    Oneal's stats this season

He trained with Grover this summer too....

This would be a great deal for both teams without anyone exposing themselves to further risk by taking on bad contracts.

I think he would be a good pick-up but I don't know why Miami would give up a center for a guard when they have Wade.

He shows some flashes here and there but he's pretty much done.

Wade + T-Mac + Beasley would make a solid back-court. And if Boozer goes to Miami, that would be a playoff team.

Railroading McGrady to shield Yao's short comings and injuries won't help Les Alexander win championships, but it may help him make money. :)

contract for contract, injury for injury, I think JO is the logical equivalent for TMac...we could also give Dorsey to them...I want JO+D. Wright for TMac+JT+Dorsey...this deal should be okay if there are really no good deals out there.

Mac's contract is paid by insurance, so there's no financial pressure.

That depends as I have said on the language in the contract, most insurance policies stop paying once a player is deemed medically healthy, if this one is different, and it very well may be, then yes, you are correct, he will rot all year long.

Will it be a turning point of Morey's GM career? I know he made some good drafts and a couple of role players trades. But nothing compares to Tmac's contract. Dealing a superstar contract like this will be a dead or alive decision.

I think Morey will be regarded as failure if he just buying out Tmac. He has been making agressive trades since takeover Dawson. He certainly wants to do more than that.

Honestly, I am very skeptical of Yahoo Sports now...I find it odd that they are pimping this rift between T-mac and the Rockets and it's not really being reported widely elsewhere. And then you have t-mac and adelman talking lovey in the media now with even T-mac saying he's not ready and coach is right.

WTF is going on? I am beginning to think Yahoo takes a lot of liberties in it's sports reporting as a means to compete with ESPN. A desperate ploys to "create" news out of slim or questionable sources.

I mean, Miami trading O'Neal for another guard makes no sense whatsoever.

Another speculation fueled piece of trash submitted by Yahoo Sports. I am exclusively interested in facts, hence I will discredit this internet web journalist at every oppurtunity.

Nevermind he was at a funeral.

    Still injury prone.
