Shan, I can sing all of them too! I used to watch it on repeat in college while I did homework. The VCR would stop and rewind then start again. It was great. I also have the soundtrack

^ John Cusak, also... and Thalía (Mexican singer) sings the Spanish versions of the Anastasia songs. You'll be surprised at how many Spanish-speaking well-known actors/actresses do the voices.

Also: Where's HERCULES? I am befuddled. Danny Devito... Ricky Martin does the songs and character voice in the Spanish version? C'mon... come freakin'on!!!!!

Hercules I was not a fan of. I loved the music (as I do with most of the animated musicals) but the movie was a huge disappointment. Especially since I had the soundtrack memorized before I even saw the movie in the theatre.

Danny Devito was the only good part of it.

No Rankin/Bass movies? Not even The Last Unicorn?

Heck, I'd put up the Christmas Rankin/Bass movies in front of these...maybe some of the Charlie Brown movies as well.

It also appears to be heavily skewed to more modern movies.

Some of the early 1980s animated movies should be on there.

While I agree that lists like this tend to be skewed towards more recent films, I think people underestimate the sheer quality that Pixar has brought us since Toy Story first came out. Every movie they make at least great, if not an instant classic. It's easy to look back in nostalgia at movies like the Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast....but I honestly would rather watch pretty much any Pixar movie that isn't Cars or A Bug's Life before I would watch most of those classic Disney flicks again. I wish there had been as consistent a source of great kids movies when I was a kid.

And to whoever mentioned Secret of NiHm...HELL YEAH. That was one of the last kids animated flicks that were not afraid to have some really scary elements, and not afraid to have important characters die a sad death. That movie still gets the room a bit dusty when I watch it.

Now that I have a daughter, I've seen Snow White 8,539,612 times. Other than Snow White's annoying voice and insipid personality, it's a great movie. The queen is an awesome tragic character. And, the end when the two vultures descend... chilling. Some great artwork too.

Here's another list I found from earlier this year. I don't agree with it either, though I liked both Toy Story movies I wouldn't have them in my top ten much less one and two.

25. Lady and the Tramp

This 1955 Disney outing is well recognized even today, a half-century after its debut, for its romantic yarn about a pair of dogs -- a refined Cocker Spaniel and a street-wise mutt -- from different worlds who fall in love. In fact, the film has spawned at least one (to date) direct-to-video sequel, a sure sign of its enduring appeal. The first Cinemascope animated feature, Lady and the Tramp was also something of an innovation for the studio in terms of story -- it is the first of Disney's animated features to take place in the "real" world rather than a fantasy setting. The jazzy score and romantic arc of the picture set the heart aflutter, and who can ever forget that scene in the alleyway with the spaghetti dinner? If only all of our first dates were that good...

24. A Bug's Life

A Bug's Life, arguably Pixar's most underrated film, is the story of Flik, an independent-thinking ant who sets out on a mission to help save his colony from a gang of freeloading grasshoppers in order to get back in the good graces of the Queen. But when a group of "warrior bugs" that Flik recruits turn out to be a bumbling circus troupe, the tiny hero must believe in himself to save Ant Island once and for all. Despite not being quite as popular as the CG studio's other great films like Toy Story or Finding Nemo, it's a fun little story with some really cute characters that's not to be missed.

23. The Cat Returns

Called Neko no ongaeshi in its native Japan, this Hiroyuki Morita anime was produced by Studio Ghibli, the outfit headed-up by the legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki. Based on the novel-within-a-film from the studio's Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns is about a girl named Haru who discovers the secret kingdom of cats, where she inadvertently becomes betrothed to the prince of the felines. Typically odd by American standards -- and yet endearing and beautiful -- The Cat Returns is a charming gem that demands to be seen by more U.S. viewers who are far too dependent on Disney-only product these days.

22. The Lion King

The Lion King, released in 1994, is a lushly animated picture with an epic story, fantastic songs, an all-star voice cast, and just the right amount of humor. It's the story of Simba, a lion cub who is tricked into thinking he killed his father. Guilt ridden, the cub flees into exile and abandons his identity as the future King. The movie was hailed by critics and immediately embraced by moviegoers. After it was all said and done, The Lion King went on to gross $328.5 million (including an IMAX re-release) at the domestic box office. It also spawned a Broadway musical that also became a huge hit, and we can't forget (even if we'd like to) a series of direct-to-video sequels.

21. Beauty and the Beast

"Tale as old as time…" So begins the title song of Disney's greatest romance, an animated retelling of the classic tale. With a taut, engaging story, well-imagined characters, and some of the most breathtaking art Disney has ever managed (and that's saying a lot), Beauty and the Beast stands as a shining example of 2-D animation. Nominated for Best Picture in 1991, it is the only animated film to ever earn such an honor.

20. My Neighbor Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro is insanely popular in Japan. The film has inspired a Japanese environmental group to buy a Totoro Forest preserve in the Saitama Prefecture, the setting of the story. Though some of the Japanese cultural references in the film are lost on an American audience, the movie's themes of familial bonds and courage in the face of difficult situations make it a perfect family film. Satsuki and Mei discover the nest of a strange forest spirit named King Totoro, learning that it's Totoro's powers that make the trees grow and the winds blow. Totoro takes a liking to the girls and takes them on a few wild adventures through the forest. He's a very odd-looking character, kind of like a giant bunny rabbit. And then there's the Catbus. Oh yes, the Catbus, a cat that turns into a bus and transports the girls over the countryside. Extremely odd, but charming in a strange way.

19. Princess Mononoke

Princess Mononoke is among the best known Miyazaki films stateside. Stunning visual imagery characterizes this lush and gorgeous film about a prince trying to rid he and his village of a curse. Along the way he gets unwittingly involved in a battle between the forest gods and a mining settlement, ultimately bringing Princess Mononoke into the fold. This film makes our list for two sequences alone: the emergence of the Kodoma and our first glimpse of the Great Forest Spirit. Epic in scope, lushly animated, the film is a must see for any serious student of animation.

18. Persepolis

The rare non-Hollywood animated feature to get nominated for an Oscar, Persepolis is based on Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical comic about her experiences as a rebellious girl growing up during the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Directed by Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud, the film sounds much more serious than it is; in fact, even while it deals with the ever-increasing restriction of freedom that Iranians found themselves under at the time, Marjane's coming-of-age story is full of the kind of hijinks and exploits that any other normal teenager might encounter. And that makes her a much more interesting -- and real -- heroine than what most animated fare has to offer us.

17. Monsters, Inc.

Despite Pixar's preponderance for stories about terrible toddlers, Pete Docter scores one of the company's biggest hits with this irresistible ode to rugrats. When monsters-in-your-closet Sulley (John Goodman) and his best buddy Mike (Billy Crystal) accidentally return from a job with a kid in tow, they find that their natural-born adversaries may in fact prove better as friends than foes; before long, their world - and all of Monstropolis - is thrown into hilarious disarray. Crystal and Goodman have chemistry to burn as our wise-cracking heroes, while Steve Buscemi oozes malevolence as their chameleonic competitor. But it's Mary Gibbs' expressive collection of gurgles as Boo that brings the relationships to life. Even if it eventually takes a full-grown monster to raise them, this movie's sweet enough to make anyone consider having kids.

16. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

There aren't a lot of movies whose very existence – rather than, say, their intent, execution or artistic merits – affirms humanity's ability to surpass the so-called marvels of modern technology, but Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit is one of them. The film, which follows three similarly inspiring, Oscar-winning shorts which preserved clay animation in an era in which computers rose to prominence, and then dominance, seems resoundingly, charmingly antiquated in its construction, and yet it suffers none in comparison to its CG competition. All of which doesn't merely mean that it's a significant artistic achievement, but a fantastic, fun family film as well.

15. Ratatouille

A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unwanted visitor in the kitchen at one of Paris' most exclusive restaurants, Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who inadvertently discovers Remy's amazing talents. They strike a deal, ultimately setting into motion a hilarious and exciting chain of extraordinary events that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down. Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef. Ratatouille is that unique experience that strikes deep notes of recognition across many kinds of moviegoers, be they discriminating technophiles, fans of animation, or just everyday folks expecting to be entertained. Filmmaker Brad Bird has created the kind of movie that is truly for "everyone."

14. Dumbo

Released in 1941, Disney's Dumbo is a classic animated film that is just as brilliant and enjoyable today as it was back then. The movie, which centers around a cute baby elephant who is made fun of because of his huge ears and tries to overcome the challenges he faces because of the unusual deformity, has been a genre favorite for generations. Rumor has it that it was even a favorite of Walt Disney himself, even though he was initially reluctant to make the picture.

13. One Hundred and One Dalmations

Beloved enough to spawn a live-action remake 35 years after its debut, One Hundred and One Dalmatians (not 101 Dalmatians actually) is a permanent part of the animated-feature landscape and the family-film consciousness. Never mind for the moment the inherent animal-abuse consequences of the film's story, you ASPCA members: The movie is a high point in the careers of the classic Disney animation team. Remember, this was in the days before computers, when each of the spotted doggies seen on screen had to be hand drawn! Enough, no doubt, to drive those artists to have one hundred and one drinks… at least.

12. Fantasia

This film isn't merely an engaging series of vignettes, nor an artsy departure from Disney's spate of fairy tale adaptations. Rather, it's an outright classic that elevated the entire medium, and offered an early glimpse of what might be possible in the realm of hand-drawn (and later, computer-generated) animation. "Night on Bald Mountain" offers one of the most chilling embodiments of a piece of music ever envisioned, while "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" takes Mickey's cheerful countenance and catapults him into a literal maelstrom of mischief. But the sweltering, dinosaur-laden "Rite of Spring" remains an achievement in animation that has yet to be surpassed.

11. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton didn't direct this stop-motion odyssey, but his fingerprints are all over it: Jack Skellington, former avatar of the best holiday of the year (Halloween, of course), turns his attention to something decidedly more mainstream -- Christmas -- with disastrous effects. Chris Sarandon, best known as The Princess Bride's Prince Humperdinck, lends Jack the proper air of ingratiating self-importance, but Danny Elfman's rousing lyrics truly give the characters -- including the burlap-clad Oogie Boogie (Ken Page) -- a real voice. It's also the only family-oriented flick we can imagine that's perfect viewing for not one but two different holidays.

10. The Iron Giant

When writer-director Brad Bird's The Iron Giant was released in 1999, fans of animation everywhere were starving for something fresh and rejuvenating for the genre. Without formulaic storytelling, with no cheesed-out ending, and not a single song-and-dance sequence, the disarmingly charming science fiction tale of young Hogarth Hughes and his 50-foot-tall, steel-eating friend from outer space was just what we had all been waiting for.

9. The Incredibles

A pitch perfect action-adventure, The Incredibles has something for all ages to enjoy. Written and directed by Brad Bird (The Iron Giant), Incredibles combines elements from spy, superhero, family drama, and action flicks, deftly displaying suspense, robot-smashing fight scenes, a mid-life crisis, and more! There're plenty of humor and references for a sci-fi or comic-book fan to geek out about, while younger children get a kick out of super-kids Dash and Violet taking on the bad guys.

8. Finding Nemo

Pixar's amazing run of success continued with Finding Nemo, which was an instant hit with audiences and earned an astounding $340 million domestically. Voiced by Albert Brooks and Ellen Degeneres, it's the tale of a father fish who loses his son in the great ocean, and the journey he must make to bring him back. Told with a blend of sentimentality, madcap energy and wit, Nemo made storytelling look easy.

7. The Secret of NIMH

Don Bluth and several of his fellows left the confines of Disney in the late 1970s to make their own animated features, the first of which was this film, based on the children's book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien. The tale of a widowed mouse who discovers a secret enclave of super-smart rats, The Secret of NIMH was a revolutionary picture for its time because it proved that you didn't have to run with the Mouse House in order to make animated features. It eventually lead to cartoon franchises for Bluth such as An American Tail and The Land Before Time. And the videogame classic Dragon's Lair, of course!

6. Kiki's Delivery Service

The wonderful tale of Kiki, an ambitious young girl trying to become a full-fledged witch. With only her black cat Jiji by her side, Kiki flies to a city far away and sets up a delivery service. Their specialty? Delivery by broomstick, of course. This film is one of Miyazaki's "family favorites." It expertly explores the theme of a young girl developing independence and confidence. It's a great character-driven story but it lacks the conflict, scale, and drama that make Miyazaki's other works stand out as cinema classics. As with every Miyazaki film, Kiki's Delivery Service is filled with memorable characters along the way, as well as multiple adventures that Kiki finds herself in.

5. Kirikou and the Sorceress

Based on an African legend, Kirikou and the Sorceress comes from French artist Michel Ocelot. Kirikou is but a baby boy, but his prodigious talents and beyond-his-years wisdom come into play when it falls to him to save his village from the nasty sorceress of the title. Senegalese musician Youssou N'Dour scores the film, bringing a faithful African vibe to the proceedings, while Ocelot's Africa-via-Frenchie art is a unique and thrilling visual experience unto itself.

4. Pinocchio

Snow White created the animated feature and Pinocchio further elevated the status of the form and continued a streak of success for Disney. The classic story of the toy who wanted to become a real boy is a timeless work of beautiful animation, fun, and heartbreaking drama. Disney was also careful to make a film that could cross over in appeal to both children and adults. If you haven't seen Pinocchio in recent years, you might be surprised to discover how dark and, at some moments, twisted the film actually gets. They could never make this one today.

3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The tagline for the 60th Anniversary release stated, "The one that started it all," which is no understatement. With Snow White, old Walt created the modern animated film as we know it. Before this, cartoons were only produced for shorts and usually featured unrealistic-looking creatures singing, dancing, and being funny. Snow White gave us realistic, human-based animation and combined comedy and drama for a piece of timeless filmmaking that holds up every bit as well today as it did in 1937. Not only a great animated movie, but one of the greatest film achievements of any genre.

2. Toy Story

It's difficult to measure just how much impact Toy Story has had on animated films. It launched Pixar into the limelight, essentially turning a smallish studio into a behemoth (although a loving, cuddly behemoth), it challenged the concept of 2D animation, and spurred other studios to join the 3D revolution. Technically superior and visually striking at its release, the movie is not only a tech marvel, it is a heartwarming story as well. Following the lives of a group of toys and their quest to please the young boy Andy, it is a finely-crafted tale packed with emotional payoff. No wonder Pixar has gone on to make a string of hits.

1. Toy Story 2

One of the few sequels that manages to surpass an already great original film, Toy Story 2 showed that animated sequels could exist without being inferior, cash-grabbing versions of their predecessors. The movie's got a tight storyline, superb animation and great character development -- that's impressive in itself for a film about toys.
