It makes perfect sense. Morey gushes over Lowery prior to trading for him. He then matches a contract offer for Lowery that is more than what a back up point guard would get. The Rockets do not extend Brooks, and are going full steam ahead with Lowery as the starter. Brooks doesn't mesh well with Martin on the defensive end. So now... with Brooks about to be a FA... he will be dealt.
For reals. Flynn would excel in this offense imo. But your right they don't make good trade partners because the other is trying to screw the other over.
Right now, yes. Check back in 2 years... Flynn's still recovering from a devastating injury, but he dropped 14 and 4 as a rookie. He's only 21, and has a bright future in the league.
I swear if they trade Love for Brooks that Minnesota G.M. MUST get fired. First it was Al Jefferson for Kosta Koufos and draft picks. Now Brooks for Love, Kahn is seriously on some crack right now. But Brooks for Rubio is not an impossibility it could be done.
Flynn for Brooks? I'd do this anyday, but Minny needs to give us at least Nikola Pekovic and a low first rounder Brooks + Budinger + Hayes for Flynn + Pekovic + Utah First rounder
Brooks will be dealt. That is right. We need Flynn!!! But however...the question is can we get Kevin Love and multiple future first rounders from Minnesota for Aaron Brooks....hmmmmm...
I don't think Love or Rubio are untouchable but we would have to make a way better offer than what a lot of people are suggesting. No interest in Flynn. He may develop into a role player but that is likely in a couple years.. guy just has not looked good in the NBA so far. Rockets do not need to disperse their talent any more. We are in fact looking to do the opposite. Even if we were.. Battier>Brewer Brooks>>Flynn, and Wayne Ellington means nothing. The players in the swap may be younger but who cares.. youth does not account for talent. On a side note.. 2+2=3 in the NBA. In most cases teams want to trade talent on similar tiers of levels. You can't really offer more players and expect it to make up for the talent gap in trying to trade for the better player. The Rockets are victim to this. K-Mart was a huge steal and hopefully we can get another.
