Possible I guess, but why would Kahn say, "I offered Flynn for Brooks and got shut down"? Doesn't seem to be in line with increasing his value.
Honestly, what do you people think we will be getting for AB given he is RFA this off season? He had one good season, and has not been able to replicate this year because of injuries. Not to mention, one has to admit that there is an obvious ceiling in that he always been a good but never great PG, but on a team without a true closer or finisher he will expect to treated close to that level (especially financially). I honestly have to say I have not seen Jonny Flynn play enough to know if he is any good, but given how bad the management/coaching at Minnesota has been the past few years it would not be hard at all to think that Flynn might not have been developed well in his ONE NBA season. Plus he has only been in the league for 1 season, had hip surgery during the summer, and is not playing with a time limit unable to get decent rhythm. I'm not saying a straight up trade is worth it, but as a starting point in talks it is not the craziest thing in the world.
Yes!!! Do it Morey, Flynn is locked on cheap contract, and not to mention his much younger than AB, with potential to be better than Brooks... I mean, might as well trade AB for a young guard, given that we're not going to be paying him the money he wants this summer..
This is all to motivate Sacremento. DM: See, if you want Brooks you better give us Cousins ! Sacremento : Wait, Flynn is available....???? Click DM: Wait, uh...wait....dang it, I wanted Rubio. D
#6 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft...Johnny Flynn  <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7U65I6UB9og?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7U65I6UB9og?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VUOzT4nzyuY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VUOzT4nzyuY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Johnny Fynn is that a joke Johnny Flynn: PPG 4.7 RPG 1.40 APG 2.7 Aaron Brooks PPG 12.1 RPG 1.80 APG 4.8 Aaron Brooks stats last year PPG 19.6 RPG 2.6 APG 5.3
Child, please. He averaged 13.5 and 4.4 as a rookie, and shot 83% from the charity stripe. Not to mention, he has superb athleticism. Injuries have hampered his progression, but labeling him as a "terrible player" is absolutely ludicrous. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pHY4vduNoRo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pHY4vduNoRo?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
The Wolves are more or less my second team, and I can tell you that trading Brooks for Flynn is an absolute no-go. Flynn is a chucker. Honestly, the one member on that team I would like that is reasonably attainable would be Darko, but I don't think it would happen.
Brooks is no chucker, he averages a good amount of assists, has a good assist to turnover ratio, he does what he is asked. The guy is so underated on this board it is amazing. DD
