After the last few games and especially tonight. Who wants Flynn now? Think some of you guys never seen him play but talked about him bein a bust. His upside is way bigger than Lowry's or AB's and right now he is better, too.

that brooks for johnny flynn trade idea is just stupid. we're basically getting almost the same exact player back that we traded.
yeah its ironic. Brooks had a terrible game and Flynn had a good game. I was hoping people wouldn't read too much into that. Flynn is no Aaron Brooks. While I think he's better at getting to the rim, he's nowhere near as good a shooter as Brooks is.
I SAY GET IR DONE because we can get their 1 st round pick which may be top 5 pick and this year has no clear no 1 so we can get lucky with a player and we get a back up in flynn brooks is not playing well anyways so perfect trade
I'm actually for this.. If we can actually get Minny's 1st round this year + Flynn for Brooks then I say it is a win win... We might have to throw in a 2nd rounder + cash to make it work but I like it.
Don't the Clippers own that pick (top-10 protected this year, unprotected in 2012) from the ill-fated Marko Jaric trade of 2005? How can the Timberwolves trade it if they don't know for sure they have it? Maybe Ford is talking about their willingness to move it at the time of the draft (after the pick is made).
They're talking about two separate deals. Flynn for a player (like Brooks) and then their high draft pick for another young veteran. I doubt the Rockets have anything to convince the Wolves to give up their pick, unfortunately.
I started a thread about this in the general forum asking if Minny could trade this pick with 10+ protection. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=201188
You are correct. Minnesota's own 2011 1st round pick to the L.A. Clippers ( top 10 protected in 2011, and unprotected in the 2012 Draft). [LA Clippers - Minnesota, 8/12/2005]
I'm glad. AB is starting to regain his speed. I think he will get better by the end of the year. If DM gets a better offer he should consider it.
I'm not sure about this, but since the pick is top-10 protected this year, I wonder if they can convey the following pick obligation: The Timberwolves' own 2011 first round pick, so long as it is in the top 10 picks in the 2011 NBA Draft; however, if such pick is not in the top 10 picks, then it will be conveyed to the L.A. Clippers, and the Rockets will receive the Timberwolves' own 2012 first round pick.
While it is highly unusual, the example that gives me the least bit of confidence in it is actually the 2015 Clippers' second rounder that the Rockets "got" in the David Andersen-to-Toronto deal. That pick was unprotected only for picks 51-55. If the Clippers select anywhere other than in the 51-55 range, the obligation is extinguished. By that rationale, it should at least be POSSIBLE to convey a draft pick with protection BELOW a certain point. Just a guess, though.
