I disagree that Chandler would make us a contender. I think we are quite a ways away from being a legitmate contender.
lol...i love Ryan Bowen's expression in the background... looks like he's abt to start laughing his A$$ off lol
What are you talking about? You would rather have a fouler than a shot-blocker? Every shot-blocker in the history of basketball would have gotten posterized at least once.
I would argue having someone like Chandler AND upgrading the PG spot to some degree would make us a contender. However, just having Chandler I think would take us to the level of Utah, New Orleans, or Atlanta - good playoff teams that if things get a bit lucky, could win.
Of course... If you get enough minutes in the NBA, you'll be dunked on at least once. I'm not debating that. I'm more concerned about the defender trying to make a play. It just makes me sick to see players, (especially 6'9 and taller) just give up on a play because they fear getting dunked on.
I agree with you, adding Chandler to this squad and you are looking at 4-5 more wins and battling Utah for the 7th seed. It also puts you one good trade away at the deadline from battling for the 5th or 6th spots in the West, which is what most expected with a healthy Yao. Sadly, Toronto didn't want to play and Dampier paid off for Dallas..FINALLY.
Adding an athletic and long defensive presence like Chandler would make such a huge difference on this team. The deficiency in the frontcourt is even more glaring than that in the backcourt. Martin, Lowry, and ab are never going to be good defenders, but he would solve a lot of problems/make up for some of their mistakes.
Well, you'd always prefer to trade your "bad players" and keep your "good players". That's why you see Hill in so many trade proposals . . . by posters on this BBS. You can be damn sure that any opposing GM who pays attention to our "trade assets" would be asking for Patterson over Hill and for Lee over Budinger. As far as players playing well that "we want to move," I don't think the team WANTS to move anyone. Perhaps Brad Miller, who has played at least fairly well given the expectations of him coming in to this season, in order to clear his salary off the cap for next season. But I can assure you that the Rockets do not WANT to trade Kevin Martin or Luis Scola. Of course, if the right offer comes along that blows Morey's socks off, it's not like he'd outright refuse to trade either (or both) of those guys.
i remember that dunk like it was yesterday. shawn bradley was never relevant in the series after that, nor for the rest of his career. lol.
The man was never relevant, he was put in the NBA by God's will so that young kids would be able to marvel at their favorite athletes dunk on him
Flynn is still being shopped; now is maybe a good time to talk given Brooks is sulking: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/ex_nuggets_gm_won_help_HnRyEnTIL3a05Tpvk6Bu1O/1
Doesnt mean we still cant send them Brooks there to pair up with Anthony Randolph. For Ricky Rubio who will never play for them.
If we trade Brooks and Hill for the rights to Rubio, an added benefit is that Minnesota will lose interest in Randolph, blocking the Knicks from getting Melo in the latest proposal.
The only guard on the T-wolves I find interesting is Ridnour. Classic late bloomer? Ridnour can run the pick and roll with Scola. Rockets currently don't have that kind of player.
If the Rockets really wanted to teach Aaron a lesson they would send him to Minnesota so he can not only think twice about leaving his team out on the court but also beaning the ball off someone twice his size. I GOTCHA B!TCH!
