    Spurs release G Spanoulis
    August 23, 2007

SAN ANTONIO (TICKER) -- The San Antonio Spurs on Thursday released point guard Vassilis Spanoulis.

The 25-year-old native of Greece was acquired by the Spurs on July 12, along with a 2009 second-round pick, from the Houston Rockets in exchange for center Jackie Butler and the rights to power forward Luis Scola.

Spanoulis averaged 2.7 points in 31 games for Houston last season.

lol, then not only would we complete the steal for Scola, but more importantly we would make the Jackie Butler addition the "steal" of the offseason!

Rockets: The National Basketball Association's thieves.

Well, so much for the idea that Parker might convince him to stay.

Well, if Scola turns out as good as advertised, I'll still think of V-Span nicely.

Billy signed a 3 year contract with his Euro League team, with a large buyout. Never say never, but doubt that he buy out his contract and return before the end of his contract.

so, what is the over/under for how many responses this latest VSpan thread gets...

...and what is the over/under if I now say, "The news should finally shut up all the damn VSpan fans and prove JVG was right afterall."

How does this prove anything other than in spite of all the Rockets pleading for him to stay in the end he got what he wanted. As for JVG, Adelman disagrees with him. Ah but why bring up JVG, he is no longer a Rocket and that's the best off season move of all.

how is this rockets news? The day he said I'm not returning to the rockets, was the day that he betrayed me. I truly supported that guy. I wish him well overseas. but let him know, Scola hasn't forgotten that incident, where v-span took a cheap shot against Tau.
