Is and always will be about the money. Is and always will be a chucker. Is and always will be basketball r****ded. Von Wafer is and always will be regretting this decision. Good riddance, sir. Good. Riddance.
we need translation to be sure!!! it could have said: olympiakos stalls talks with Von Wafer. or olympiakos invites von wafer to its summerleague team for potential free agent tryouts.
Good for him, he had offers in the NBA, but with the down turn in economics and the uncertain salary cap it made it hard for teams to pay what they used to be able to pay. So, instead of accepting a near minimum NBA deal, he gets one that is 2/3rds of the MLE money, and they pay his taxes as part of the deal. He can go over there, make a lot of $$$$, work on his game, and come back to the NBA at 25 or 26 once the market settles in....... The thing that boggles my mind is people thinking he will be easily replaced, he won't be. Guys that can: 1. Shoot 45% overall 2. Shoot 40% from 3pt range 3. Hit the midrange 4. Attack the basket 5. Are uber competitive 6. Are elite athletes 7. Have quicker first steps than most SGs in the NBA Are not that easy to replace.......you can replace his production with a different kind of player....where is Chase anyways???? But you can not replace his skill set, it is fairly unique.....one dimensional, yes, but unique, and that is what I always liked, the ability and roster flexibility that it gave the Rockets.....someone that was different off the bench that could change the course of the game, and was difficult to prepare for, I will miss that in Houston. Glad he found some $$$$$, good for him, sad, in that it made my favorite team a little bit weaker. Good luck Von, now we get a chance to bid on you in a year or two against everyone else....WOOOHOOO !! DD
