Word is that Rockets at Lakers as the second game of opening night double header. Really hope this is true.

The NBA is far too PR conscience to have such a negatively charged game open the schedule. They'll try and bury LeBron's return on a random Monday night if they can. Wouldn't be surprised if they push it back to 2011 to give Cleveland more time to chill out.

Good idea to have the Heat play the Celtics game 1 instead of Cavs. Celtics will be fresh and the game will be competitive ratings through the roof. Cavs matchup will be interesting up until the first TV timeout when Cavs will be down by 35 points. Plus NBA wouldnt want some crazy white guy doing something ....crazy  .

Dunno if it'll be our 2nd game. We're getting 3 days off to start the year? Ehhhh I dunno...I think we'll get a back to back vs GSW or LAC. Or another west coast team.

so it's rockets v lakers/nuggets from the beginning?? i like this. playing the lakers as an opener is a blessing for the rockets, win or lose.

    1) NBA players, as do many fans, regard the Lakers as the team to beat. Not Miami, yet. Playing against them on opening night will help the Rockets, hopefully by lighting a fire under their rear.

    2) National Coverage?? indeed

This is big-time respect the NBA is giving the Rockets.
