I'd be surprised if he was, Lee is a young good PF he has more potential to get better and develop more skills.

Scola as good as he is now will be turning 30 and has pretty much if not will shortly be hitting his ceiling. He'll become a good back up on a contender if we don't re-sign him.

I'd gladly take Gasol off their hands.

Gay is not a big man (he is definitely a small forward), and Gasol, Haddadi, Mihm, and Thabeet are all centers. Arthur is the only true power forward on that list, and he hasn't displayed that much potential to the extent that they would ensure him with the starting spot. I would have agreed with you if you said that the Grizzlies have too many centers, but they could use a true power forward. If I were the Grizzlies, I still wouldn't sign David Lee to a contract that bloated. Negotiate with Milsap first, who has a more legitimate post game, and trade one of your young centers for draft picks or young talent. Or they could even package one of those centers with a horrible contract to be rid of it.

Grizzlies' owner Michael Heisley has apparently not given GM Chris Wallace approval to make a lucrative offer to David Lee.

Lee is a restricted free-agent but the Knicks may not match a contract at or near $10 million per season.

    the plot thickens...

5yrs/$60MM for David Lee is even too stupid for the Grizzlies. I don't believe it.

Grizzilies trying to free agent party like its 1999. Now they'll drive up the price of all the other bigs on the market (Gortat, etc).
