    anyway

it kills me that a guy like steve nash gets fawned over on this board and he gets to play with two all stars in phoenix and he can't make it to the finals, in one thread easy's arguing that ginobli is better than carmelo anthony (san antonio has three all star caliber players)

but kobe gets to play with a center that still hasn't lived up to his reputation and all of sudden its a travesty.

Please look at the trade objectively. Toronto got a much worse package overall.

    Zo
The Williams duo ($8 million owed the next year)
two first round picks (one of which was later traded for cap relief)

    vs.

    Kwame
Aaron Mckie (signed to match salaries)
two first round picks (likely late 20's, probably going to be shopped)
    Javaris Crittenton
    Rights to Marc Gasol

Toronto took on future salary, ended up trading one of the picks away for cap relief anyway, and the picks were never expected to be lottery. I don't care how much Carter whined, Tmac did the same thing that summer and still fetched a package around SF3/Cat. Carter was in his prime. Ray Allen was old and still fetched the #5 pick. There was no reason for Toronto to do that trade at THAT instant, instead of shopping for some value.

Toronto basically PAID $8 million to trade Carter for a late first round pick. It's honestly one of the worst trades I've ever seen. The only reason you defend it is because you hate the lakers that much, so much so that you would consider that trade valid just so you can bash the lakers trade as some kind of "conspiracy".

If you would consider that Carter trade decent for the raps, I hope you are NEVER in a position to make decisions for the rockets.

LOL. So it's about Kobe. With all the Kobe love threads around, you have to hijack a Memphis thread to pump up your guy?
