our offense last yr vs the blazers were mediocre at most as we ave 91 pts. We won with defense. Yao, who will be even slower, cannot play in this offense. Rick will adjust the offense for a more halfcourt style when he is in.
Jim Jackson has played for 12 different teams, and Mike James has played for 10. These are the kind of guys that leave on bad terms wherever they go.
Ideally, a situation that is good for T-Mac is good for the Rockets. Please understand, I do not advocate accomodating McGrady for the sake of humouring him, it is not useful. Tracy McGrady making contributions to this squad is much more beneficial than any of the alternatives that have been posed.
Having McGrady go back to Chicago to get in better shape while Morey waits for the trade deadline to approach doesn't sound like a bad idea at this point. If there truly is little possibility of Tracy playing for the Rockets again, then at least this option is the least disruptive to the team.
i think the biggest problem in all the heated exchanges on the Tmac threads, is that both sides are assuming that tracy can play. he has been running in practice, going full contact, don't you think the team and coaches know what Tmac can and cannot do? just because he can play a bit, does not mean he is NBA caliber. and before i get accused of making an assumption, i am using simple logic, instead of gettin emotional and insisting that Tmac is a jerk, or the rockets organization are jerks. if the team felt like tracy mcgrady could play at an NBA level, he would be playing. i believe that. i also believe that it is not far fetched for mcgrady to be a former superstar, that is a bit disillusioned and believes that he can do something that he cannot. microfracture surgery is a career ender. a few, FEW, instances have worked out, and it worked out for younger players. this is why the team did not want Tmac to get it last year. he is done playing in the NBA, that is an easy assertion, based on the fact that it is MAJOR surgery, with a low rate of recovery. the 8 minutes are probably given to him so that he will feel like he is contributing, and no one has the heart to tell him that its over. i dont think anyone is to blame, and talkin about he said, she said is kinda boring, but its all over these boards lately. Tmac is making good money, the insurance is paying the team, he needs to accept the truth and move on. the contract will come off the books at the end of this year, and we will sign a big timer then. until then, the rockets are not going to take on big fat contracts for scrubs, and they will not buy him out. why would they? it would be like throwing money away.
Tinman this case you are complete Incorrect (WRONG)!! Adelman has lied to McGrady and to the Rocket's fans. He should have been honest and direct to McGrady and told him he is not wanted and will have to wait patiently for a trade or the completion of his contract. Morey our great General Manager also went along with these lies and dishonesty. They have brought disgrace to Les Alexander and the Rockets Organisaton, diminishing the Rocket's reputation. I see this as a low point in the the life of our sport in Houston. Yetti
I hope this is true. Tmac will just go back to Chicago and work with Grover while the team seeks a trade. No more speculation about when he will play or how much. Even other NBA coaches or GMs think playing 8 mins is pointless. Thank god it's stopping
ONE coach said that, another said that they proved enough already in those 8 minutes stints that he is not done. So, it depends on whom you ask, and what you are hoping to accomplish. I think the Rockets got enough to show what he MIGHT become again. DD
Just before Christmas, one front office executive told his video coordinator to cobble together the footage of Tracy McGrady’s(notes) comeback. The executive had watched most of those unmemorable 47 minutes, but wanted to make sure that he hadn’t missed something. The evidence was incomplete, but the conclusion unmistakable: T-Mac is no longer an impact player, just an expiring contract. “That said, how am I supposed to tell anything off the minutes they were giving him?” the executive said. You are wrong
Look for a buyout to happen if TMac will give up enough of his salary to get the Rockets under the luxury tax threshold for this year.
The other quoted coach said it proved that he can still play I think in terms of his knee is doing fine, which is what other teams wanting to see. Look 8mins is not enough to show what he can do. Adelman is doing this bc he does not want to play tmac. It's that simple.
I'm not contemplating. Yahoo has proven to be fairly accurate in it's reporting. But yes anything to resolve this is great. I think tmac going back to Chicago waiting for the team's trade is a great thing.
