Yes I do Yao has proven that he is all about the team and will sacrifice any part of his game if it helps the team out even if it means a reduction in his own stats. Tracy hasnt its not about if either player has the physically capability of being able to play that style of basketball..its about whether or not they would be willing to
Adelman is not that delusional, to consider the Rockets as a championship contender without T-Mac or Yao. This team has too many holes that will be duly exposed in the playoffs.
I fail to see how anyone could conclude that Tmac was no longer an impact player based on the very first games fresh out of microfacture surgery where he only played 8 mins a game. At this point there just isn't any way to say what Tmac will achieve. He needs time to get back to playing shape, not to mention develop chemistry with his teammates again. All this jumping to conclusions is annoying.
Yeah, it's not the ability to change oneself, but the willingness to change. Yao is the one, but Mac isn't
Its all about that YoYo. esp with regards to Yao.. I like Yao a lot.. but i dont see him fitting in our scheme of things.. even if he wants to run hard.. he wont be able to.. i think the style will change to suit Yao if he comes back to his good old form.. we wont be running..
I just know if T-Mac leaves the Rockets and joins another team, he will be outstanding. And in the end we will regret ever giving him up. Whats wrong with RA? Is it really that bad to just decrease Ariza's minutes and increase T-Mac's? 8-10 minutes isn't gonna kill you RA. But Ariza's shooting will.
I don't see anything here that indicates definitively that he's done in Houston or what is going to happen with McGrady. Everyone takes these stories based on the conjecture of unnamed sources as fact, and then people are surprised when the team takes a different course of action. I'm not saying the team isn't finished with him, just that it's unclear and you'd be a fool to assume this from this story. I also wouldn't put too much stock in this idea that the team has concluded he's not going to return to playing at a high level, that he's just another player now. Adelman has said he knows McGrady has the skills to do things others can't, and it's a matter of getting him back to that level. I think these unnamed sources are speculating a bit, and that they don't really know the thoughts of management or what they plan to do with McGrady.
What "Big Name" players care how Jim Jackson, Mike James and Stromile Swift were treated by the Rockets? Players have short memories or just don't care. The Rockets managed to sign guys like Mac and Yao after Les Alexander took a dump on Charles Barkley and decided not to pay him part of his contract.
I just hope we don't end up grabbing Jermaine O'Neal or some other guy that's just going to be a let down. Go big or go home with a former superstar with an enormous expiring contract.
Getting JO straight up for McGrady would be great for the Rockets, but no way the Heat makes that trade.
RA is expecting too much from Ariza, he's trying to turn him into something he is not. Ariza's position should be SF, it suits him perfect, but RA is expecting Ariza to be our star player, and he's trying to turn Ariza into a star player, but Ariza is just not a star player. He's a good player, but he's not capable of being the leader of the Rockets team.
At this point, it's about Adelman not wanting to go through the growing pains of getting Tmac back to a player who takes on heavy minutes to see if he can play at a similar level he has in the past. He's afraid of what might happen...in case it doesn't work out well. He's also apparently afraid of reducing other teammates minutes knowing that what he has now is working well enough and, by throwing Tmac out there, it could all go to hell in a handbasket. I personally think it is worth the risk to start increasing Tmac's minutes and getting the rest of the team comfortable with Tmac back in there. IMO, Adelman is being a little short-sighted. While we shouldn't throw in the towel to this season just to get Tmac back in, we need to give Tmac chances to get back to playing at a high level. This season...we are not expected to compete for a championship. Yes, we are playing pretty good ball with the line-up we have...but it's quite the stretch to see this team contending for a championship as is. Why wouldn't we want to work Tmac back into the games if we are not trying to trade him (as Morey contended) and see if he can provide the additional boost to take us further? I understand Tmac needs to change his game to more of a team approach that we are playing now. But, how can he do that if he is not being worked into the game more and more? And, this garbage in the Yahoo! article about sending Tmac back to Chicago to continue rehabbing? That is ridiculous. That is all he had been doing. He's ready for more game action...not more rehab.
I meant big name players that might or might not play for us one day, not that Mike James, etc. is a big name player.
Tell me how you judge an NBA players production in just 8 minutes. Your completely clueless my ignorant friend.
Good point about Barkley, I would think stuff like that would get around the league (and that was my point), guess not...
