    Some of you have to be trying hard to be this dense.

    To break a tie between three teams, you look at the best winning percentage amongst the teams tied. We will finish no worse than 8th in that situation, no matter which two other teams we are tied with.

    Here's a link from the Rockets official site on NBA.COM. It's an interview with Les Alexander.

    Here's the intro to the interview:

    Apr. 9, 2004 - Following his team's 106-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets that clinched a playoff berth, Rockets owner Leslie Alexander talked about his feelings on the Rockets' first postseason appearance since 1999.

    It's on NBA.Com. OK? So, now relax.

    Even though there are tons of information on the clinch issue, there are many people still do not understand how it works or believe Rox has not clinched.

    Now I understand why many people still believe that Iraq had WMD:rolleyes:

    So if the Rox, Jazz and Nuggets all finish with the same record does that mean that WMD will be found in Iraq? ;)

    Speaking of stuff like this anyone know whatever happened to Al Sahaf, the Iraqi information minister?

    Perhaps he's a Jazz fan and has gotten a new job writing for Yahoo Sports.

    The Rockets have not clinched anything! I call the Rockets..Silly Stupid!

    Just because the WMD were not found in Iraq does not mean they did not have them. Why would they have hospitals and schools filled with weapons and chemical protection suits? It's kind of like Area 51: we know it exists, but only a few people have seen what's inside. The WMD did exist and were hidden or smuggled out pending the US invasion.

    This has been talked to death in another thread. Here is why we have clinched.

    NBA rule states, the Tiebreaker basis for Three Teams is in following order,

    o. Cumulative Winning%/Games among tied teams
    o. Winning %/Conference
    o. Winning %/Division(If Same Division)
    o. Winning %/Conference - Playoff Teams
    o. Winning %/Other Conference - Playoff Teams
    o. Best Point Differential/Offense & Defense

    If we have three way ties with Denver and Jazz, namely all three teams end up at 44-38, here are the head-to-head records,
    Houston<==>Nuggets: 2-2
    Houston<==>Jazz: 2-2
    Jazz<==>Denver: 1-3

    So the Cumulative Winning%/Games among all three teams are,
    Denver: 5-3
    Houston: 4-4
    Jazz: 3-5

    Hence, the Nuggets will be 7th seed, we'll be 8th.

    Now, quit worrying about it, plan your playoff trip to Houston
    :D

    We know that for a fact that Iraq had more atomic bombs than rest of the world combine together. We just cannot find any!

    It's just like we know W Bush's brother cheated in Florida to get him elected, we just cannot find the proof, but that doesn't mean he didn't cheat!

    He cheated to get him elected? I supposed George Herbert Walker Bush orchestrated it all, right?

    Why do people call them Sr. and Jr.? It's George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, not Jr or Sr or I or II.
    My goal is to get this thread locked.

    There were and probably still are some WMDs in Iraq someplace.
