Look he had a fair to good NBA debut but the guy did not have a stellar college career nor a stickout run in Europe and he's been NBA D-League fodder before Houston. A lot of guys have good runs like Lin and Flip Murray but eventually they gravitate back to their talent level and the law of averages. Not convinced on anything about him just yet.
The way I remember it, both Beverley and Lin started the second game, along with Harden, Asik, and Parsons. While it's not untrue that McHale chose to start Beverley at point guard instead of Lin, it would be just as true (and just as dopey) to say that he chose to start Lin at shooting guard instead of Harden. I was laughing that Beverley was our answer at power forward, but officially Harden was the starting power forward that game.
