"Rick was angry about the Rafer trade"

I am not sure this is true, if it is, then Rick really needs move on. I always say Rich is a great coach, not good one, but current rocket team may not fit to him. I also agree that Morey's moves are good for the team. Les is still the best owner among three in the city of Houston, I do not have any faith in Texans.

Morey has gone and gotten guys he thinks will be integral parts of the team. He went on record as saying he thinks that Terrence Williams is going to be an all-star. And these guys are thrown into a "dog house" almost immediately.

Without a doubt Terrence Williams is in Adelman's dog house. Adelman hasn't been too fond of Thabeet either. Maybe there is some dispute as to how Jordan Hill is being handled - because he regressed this year (I did not think it was out of the ordinary that Hill make a bigger stride this season). I can see how Morey can be losing his nerve; he get's the coach players that he thinks can provide something, but don't get to see the court.

Adelman was stuck on Battier, when Courtney Lee should have been getting more playing time. Morey basically forced Adelman to play Lee and Budinger more. He also took Raefer Alston away, in hopes of getting Brooks in the game...

But what can be truly said, is that Adelman knows how to coach the players who commit to his style. Lowry, Martin, Scola, Lee, Patterson, Hayes, Budinger, Drogic, Miller --- those guys play Adleman's game plan to a "T".... And they made a mad dash toward the playoff race when almost everyone had them down and out.

Thabeet, Williams, and early-season Hill did not deserve to see an NBA court, much less play on it. You've pointed out yourself how he used Patterson and Dragic, guys who can actually at basketball.

    And Lee isn't a 3.

Les is going to put pressure on DM to produce results. I think he knows it will take time. But he wants to see the right moves being made.

Why? He's starting to see the losing cut into the bottom line with falling gate receipts and lack of relevance in the media. RJ did say before the trade deadline that things were pretty tense at Toyota Center because Les did not like all the losing.

Great insights from the radio interview. Thanks as always for the transcript, hsf09.

Well, if Rick was unhappy with the Rafer trade, then that's not good either. It was so obvious on that team that Rafer's inept shooting was killing us.

I can understand Adelman being upset about the Battier trade. Totally understand that one. I happen to believe that if we had kept Battier and simply moved out Brooks for Dragic, and not had Brooks in the rotation any longer, that we would have made the playoffs. It still looks to me like Battier is better than Budinger, based on Budinger's continued bad defense and his spotty shooting that improved for a game or two but overall was subpar even after he got the starting job when Battier left.

And I can see why Adelman would be frustrated with the TWill move. What was he supposed to do with that guy 2/3rd of the way through the season? Undisciplined (basketball wise), unlearned in Adelman's system. Was he supposed to just throw TWill out there and make the rest of the team play around him???

But, that's NBA basketball. There is a front office, there is a general manager, there is a coach, and they got to work together for the betterment of the franchise.

I think Adelman is an excellent coach and it's too bad he's leaving right when his offense started clicking with our core players. Hopefully if it is Mike Brown that is the new coach, he will take a page out of his mentor's (Pops) book and be more flexible with the offense while instilling his defensive discipline. Or if it's SVG, hopefully the same thing. Hopefully he'll keep most of this offense and upgrade us defensively.

Who's available to coach a young team (i.e. Monty Williams of NO), A couple of points on next year.
    * I want to see Kevin Martin and Bud play better D and get tougher. They get abused in the post.
    * I never want to see the $15 mln man in the game again. Brad is flat out horrible on D
    * We need to trade Scola now, his value has a potential to drop. He's also flat our horrible on D. Rebounds very well though.
    * Give Jordan and Thabeet an opportunity to work with Dream. What is Sikma doing with the big guys? Give Chuck the opportunity to Coach them, Blake is seeing Chuck in his nightmares.
    * Time for Aldeman and his crew to move on. Thanks for the 22 game win streak, getting to the 2nd round, and almost reaching the playoffs. I'm open to Mike Brown or any other young coach who is very good with X/O's. I think Rick hurt his credibility by asking Morey to sign Brad Miller for 3 and $15 mln.

Rick was unhappy about the Rafer trade b/c he was probably blindsided by it. Not sure why people don't get that. Same with all the trades Morey does. You guys need to make up your minds. I thought Brooks was Rick's favorite. Now you're telling me it's Rafer.

Less wants to win, period. All you who think he wants to rebuild are delusional. He actually thinks Rick was keeping them from winning. Open your eyes.
