this is why i say go after amare. cuban cant get him because of Dirk. i know he doesnt play D blah blah blah...pay the guy the max, pay the lux tax if you want to win otherwise this team will lose fans that want a winner. there are a few diehard fans that stick around being mediocre but most want a winner. we are not getting bosh, or winning lottery, more than likely we will resign Yao this summer before even letting him finish a season, he is done imo, need a allstar bigman, other than amare who esle is out there? oh yeah,i forgot, some of you think scola will start next yr and bring this city a championship with battier and ariza. wow.
Hey, Caron Butler has a blog! Only 3 posts, but eh, gives you an idea of who is his a little bit more.
On the lighter side, possibly a repost (I cant keep track =( ) http://www.sportspickle.com/article...sh-drunk-enough-to-participate-in-3-way-trade In an effort to speed up the process of a proposed three-team trade, Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey and Washington Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld plan on inviting Knicks GM Donnie Walsh over for dinner tonight, with the ultimate goal of using alcohol to persuade him to join them in a three-way. “We think Donnie’s great and I’m really into the idea of adding a formidable swingman like Caron Butler to our roster," said Morey. "So I’m hoping a little liquid courage will do the trick. I can tell in his eyes he wants to do this. He just needs a push.” Friends of Walsh say he has been thinking about having a three-way with the two for some time now, but has not yet been able to pull the trigger due to concerns regarding his relationship with the Knicks when it’s over. “Donnie’s worried the long-term effects of letting Al Harrington go will be too much emotionally. You can’t undo a three-way," said Glen Grunwald, the Knicks VP of Basketball Operations. "That’s something that stays with you forever. I know from my past. But I don't regret it. Any of them." Grunfeld said this is the first time in years he’s entertained the thought of trading with multiple partners. “I remember in 2005 Jerry West tried to get me into that five-way with the Hornets, Celtics, Heat, Jazz, and Grizzlies. But man, that’s just too much," he said. "I remember seeing Danny Ainge there, and he’s Mormon, and thinking it just wasn’t for me.” Sources close to each organization said even if the GMs can’t reach an agreement in the coming days they still plan on trying anal during All-Star Weekend.
From Adrian Wojo's twitter... WojYahooNBA Wizards near completion of trade that sends Caron Butler and DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas for Josh Howard and one other player, source says
To be quite honest, a Butler/Stevenson for Howard trades just flat-out makes more sense for Washington. First of all, they immediately cut $2.7M off the payroll (subject to inclusion of any other Maverick players, which is actually not necessary), and double that to include luxury tax savings. Second, the Wiz shed ~$14.6M in 2010-11 salary commitments. (I have seen no evidence that Morey was ever willing to take back Stevenson's salary.) Third, Josh Howard (for as bad a season as he's having right now) is a better basketball player RIGHT NOW than anyone the Rockets could offer. Even if the Wizards don't exercise his ~$11.3M team option for next season, they'll still have his Bird rights and could re-sign him this summer to a more managable long-term contract. Bottom line: The Mavs had a valuable trade chip; and it looks like they've cashed it in. More power to them. If this deal is truly done, it's on to the next deal.
This should start the Rebuilding for us. It's time for Morey to trade Battier, Scola and hopefully T-mac and just admit we're headed to the lotto. I'm sure Scola and Battier could help a contender and send back some draft picks.
Kevin Martin and Mike Miller I assume you mean. Mike Miller just another guy to me. Def. a 3 pt shooter, which could help the Rockets. Probably wouldn't give up too much for him though. Kevin Martin is a guy I keep an eye on. Reports are they won't move him and they wanna see how he and Evans co-exist but that could be all talk and come deadline day, they move him. Seems like an ideal fit of what the Rockets need and want. Though, his injuries or rather injury history rather concerns me.
What happens to Yao, you think Rockets will trade him?... he's in his prime why would they rebuild, a process that could take 3 or more years when obviously he's managements first priority.
Yao Ming for D-Wade. Get 'er done, Morey! (that would be one of the few circumstances I, or the Rockets, would trade Yao)
