In comes Boston and Dallas. Hmm Morey better make a move. Iggy doesn't seem plausible, if Butler is gone, then....you end up with something like Brad Miller and John Salmons or taking on NY's trash.

No it doesn't. The Wizards have said Repeatedly that they are not interested in Shedding salary just to shed salary. They want incoming talent and want to rid themselves of Stevenson.

Word is Cuban declined Washington's offer of Butler for Howard.

When it comes to cash I'm sure the Rox could match whatever the league limit is.

It does NOT blow our offer out of the water. McGrady+Cook are expiring and WAY more than what Boston has.

Yesterday Grunfeld said they wanted to reload on the fly so what does Boston have to make that happen? Allen, crap and a low #1? If its a salary dump that still doesn't blow it out of the water because they get a junk draft pick and no young prospects? I say if this happens for us we are going to have to take Stevenson's deal and throw in Bud.

No thanks on Miller. We need another G/F like a hole in the head.

I doubt the Wiz are concerned PR wise, about what they're getting back/not getting back. Fans understand it's time to blow it up, and at the end of the day, the Wiz are going to make the best deal. And from the looks of it, it ranks:

    1. Boston
    2. Dallas
    3. Houston

Boston is the best offer because they're receiving all expirings, while keeping expirings for themselves. They clear out a lot of $ dumping Jamison + Haywood. And they ship Jamison to a contender, something both parties want.

Dallas is the next best deal, because they get back an expiring, while dumping Stevenson.

Rockets 3 way with NYK is the weakest proposal, taking everything into consideration. All the Wiz are getting back is Al Harrington. (So far) We're assuming at best that maybe Morey includes Buddinger, which we don't even know. And they keep Haywood's expiring for themselves.

People, if it's a 3 way deal, pieces have to be involved since TMac makes so much. That means Stevenson, Haywood, etc.

The Wiz say they aren't shredding salary just to shred salary, but where have we read that they could unload Jamison AND Butler in one fell swoop?

All we've read is Jamison for Big Z + Hickson.

    Butler to Dallas, Houston, etc.

In a pure cost cutting move, how does Boston's deal NOT blow our deal out the water?

They keep Haywood in that scenario, get all expirings back and unload BOTH Jamison + Butler.

Do you know how much cap room they clear up in this one trade? A lot.

A lot more than a 3 way deal with us and NYK

not looking good for the home team. we might have let opportunities slip by while holding tight. at this point, we are going to have to wait till the end to see what we get.

First, You're WAY OFF about what Washington is expecting out of these deals.

Cleavland offered Z's expiring but Wash. counter and wanted Hickson (young talent) in the deal. Cavs. said no.NOT A SALARY DUMP.

When Portland wanted Haywood Washington wanted Rudy Fernandez and Nicolus Batum and Portland said no. (young talent, not expiring).

If they wanted to to just dump salary:

    Boston 3 largest expiring combined:

    Scal, Allen, Tony Allen

    25,680,653

    Houston Expiring:

    T-mac, Cook

    26,739,561

    Have at it.

    BTW Dallas 4 largest Expirings:

    Dampier, Howard, Gooden and Thomas:

    26,808,955.

    that's half of the Bench.

You're right that the Wiz have asked for young talent in return, but again, where have we read that they could unload BOTH Jamison + Butler at the same time?

TMac + Cook is a lot of expiring money, BUT, you really think Morey wants to tack on Jamison + Butler?

26M expiring, but who goes where? Jamison to NYK? NYK wants to pay him?

    Have at it

    LOL!!!

Morey would take Jamison in a heart beat! Even if we had to trade Landry to the Wiz for him It would STILL be a steal.

IMO Morey so far has built a solid, albeit, mediocre team (solidly mediocre?). It looks right now like he is going to make Rockets fans VERY happy or VERY disappointed. There will be no mediocrity in fan feelings on the coming trade or non-trade.

No way Morey tacks on Jamison + Butler. That's way too much money on the books. LOL at the thought of trading away Landry to make room for Jamison

Jamison still doesn't solve our size problem, which is why we haven't read a thing about Houston working with Washington for a straight up deal.

We heard about AI2 and Dalembert and yes that's a lot of money on the books, but Dalembert at least helps us at the C spot.

We hear about 3 team deals because Morey is selective. He doesn't want to tack on long term $, unless the player is worth it. That's why we've rebuffed NYK so many times, because we don't want Al Harrington + Jeffries/Curry for example.

Bottomline, Boston's deal beats ours. 9 out of 10 people would agree. You being the lone person, Reeko

    Are you a dentist?

Where are these "people" imaginary friends aside? ;)

Jamison would be Valuable trade piece over the summer if Morey didn't want him on our books.

You mean to tell me they wouldn't throw in Haywood too? That's the only way the deal would work anyway because Jamison and Butler wouldn't be enough to match salaries.

In the words of Ocho Cinco, "Chil' Please"

Chil' please, yet you're the one clamoring to include Landry in a potential deal landing Jamison, Butler, and Haywood.

Minus maybe you, and DD who's a Jamison fan, I don't think there's a lot of Clutchfans posters who would want to tack on Jamison. Especially under your scenario in which we 'throw in' Landry.

As it is, it's hard to argue that in a clear cost cutting move, Boston's proposal trumps ours.

Also, again, you're under the assumption that Morey would want Jamison.

Last trade deadline, we read about him going after Butler. This trade deadline, same thing.

Sorry to break it to you, but Morey has no interest in Jamison.

The past and present tell us this

And why would Washington deal with us if they're cost cutting when they would have to include Haywood, when, with Boston's proposal they get to keep Haywood's expiring for themselves?

I wouldn't mind at all taking on Jamison. The guy is a baller. I'd give up Scola in that deal too (hate to see him go) and keep Landry.

If this bad boy goes through for the C's/Wiz then it would be a let down only because we have heard so much of Butler, even had him in a Rox uniform, but we simply move on and remember still 6 days till the deadline so more possibilities should pop up. Saying that, the dreaded nothing is imminent was attached to the rumor and where have we heard that before...???
