this is actually the first post i used a roll eyes (as far as i can remember). didnt mean to make it seem offensive. i mean, that's how most of people here react to certain posts. a simple post would get you a sarcastic, arrogant reply on this forum. im just trying to fit in  point is, you shouldnt be too excited about caron being on a contract year. those who are on contract years try to put up numbers to the detriment of their team. isnt that what most HOF here believe which is why they dont want tmac to play bcause he's on a contract year and he's gonna ruin things for everyone else just to get a big contract?
If things work out you don't worry about him playing purely for his contract year. He likes it here and plays well = no need to ball out of control lol. And if HOF is referring to Hall of Fame Caron Butler is not a HOFer.
i agree we have to hang on to brooks/landry/cbud..but id like to see us get a young superstar..i see thiers alot of lowry fans here..is he really that good though?..cant shoot very good..obvious were gonna see if yao can come back and play through another season without getting hurt..but when he does and we all know he will..who will come in and back him up,,,and dont say anderson or hayes....we need something..i like scola but hes gettin older and contract is up..i like battier but hes gettin older too..i dont see where taylor is helping us any or anderson...hayes is a scrappy player...we need to weed out the bad players here.. what can we do?
What ever happens - happens. Deals are more complex then most think. I think something will happen about 75/25 good luck. Scenarios can wipe other scenarios off. I think they go by a % of happening like 'role the dice' or like on draft day. Not only this it has to make basketball sence. GM's, Owners dont have to agree to apply their variation of what number into the trade basket. If there is deals i think salaries have to allign themselves out and fit teams agendas. This is why making deals are alot more complex then what people believe. Sometimes teams might not throw anything into a trade basket, but at the same time could be what is in the trade basket with another team. Every team i'm sure goes through this making deals alot more difficult.
Heres a thought.... Washington Gets: Cuttino Mobley Chris Duhon I am not 100%, but I think Washington gets under the cap this year with this move. Thats a savings of more than ten million dollars + tax share. NY Gets: Tracy McGrady Brian Cook Joey Dorsey NY gets McGrady whose career they can try to rejuvinate, they also dump Jeffries and open their cap space this summer. They take a significant salary hit this year however. Houston Gets: Caron Butler Brendan Haywood Jarred Jeffries Jordan Hill Houston gets under the cap this year, gets an asset in Hill, while making the team more competitive going forward. Likely have enough money to resign Scola and Lowry next year if Haywood leaves.
Today's nada, from NYPost: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knic...with_mac_m0ymGRrcGedh42ZwTx3uAL#ixzz0fKCT1cbH Walsh not just flirting with T-Mac By MARC BERMAN (not our MB, theirs) Last Updated: 7:06 AM, February 12, 2010 Posted: 3:19 AM, February 12, 2010 Knicks president Donnie Walsh said a misperception exists that his interest in the Rockets' Tracy McGrady is solely as a rental to inject life into a dying season. "There's reasons other than that," Walsh told The Post. Walsh declined to specify, but a source said the Knicks would like to see if McGrady is someone to consider re-signing in July. At least they'd have a fallback candidate if McGrady excels and they are unable to land one of the top free agents, LeBron James or Dwyane Wade. The other four top free-agent candidates are Joe Johnson, Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer and Amar'e Stoudemire. McGrady once was considered in those players' class before microfracture surgery on his left knee last year. "I think he's a very good player," Walsh said. "The microfracture surgery is a concern for everybody. But he's a good player. . . . I've been realistic about these first two years and I'm not doing this for immediate satisfaction." Walsh said the rumors of serious talks between the Rockets, Knicks and Wizards on a three-team trade have been inflated. Walsh said he first heard the three-team scenario through a media report. Since then, Walsh has contacted the Wizards and Rockets to find out if they were speaking about a potential three-way deal.

In addition, Walsh said he has other irons in the fire. If a three way does go down I hope it looks like this.... Houston Gets: Butler Blatche Mobley We get a wing that can score and we get a young seven foot PF/C that has great range, in addition we get an expiring contract, with out having to give up anything important New York Gets: McGrady Miller James Stevenson They get nothing but expirings, while at the same time getting a chance to make the playoffs, so they dont give a lottery pick to the Jazz holes!! Washington Gets: Harrington Hughes Darko Cook They get a bunch of expiring & a really good player in return, with out having to give up Haywood or Jamison, which will allow them to trade those guys separately to other teams for young talent (Portland, and Cleveland are Interested, as well as many others)... --RB
He might have, but maybe the 2nd look-see hasn't happened yet, or Grover certainly doesn't need to tip his hand. In any case, Morey might not even know yet where Tmac's gonna go.
Stevenson has a $4.15M player option for 2010-11. No way in hell the Knicks take on his contract. Sorry.
Boston making a charge now... But Rockets still in play... http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-boswastrade021210&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
MIKE MILLER!!! About freaking time but not sure what the Celtics can provide to get both Butler AND Jamison?
Miller would be perfect on this team.. Outside the top, top players in the nba (Think top 15 ) Miller is the next most efficient shooter from the 2 and the 3.. He's what I've been wanting for some time. Granted he is up in age and his defense (only because he has slowed down) isn't what it used to be but man can that guy hit a bucket.. Look at his stats for the (I don't know) past 7 years.. He more automatic than anybody on our team. If we can do Butler,Haywood,Miller for T-crap,Ariza,B-cook with a mix of a 3rd team involved I'll do it.
Boston's willingness to tack on $, and, sending Washington all expiring contracts. This means the Wiz can keep Haywood + Mike Miller, both expiring contracts I believe for themselves. Boston's proposal blows both Houston's and Dallas's deal out the water.
That won't happen. Wizards do not want extended salary AT ALL unless it's a prospect (rookie). Ariza will not be part of any deal that has him going to Washington.
This is the more disturbing part of the article.... Washington has offered Butler and DeShawn Stevenson(notes) for the Mavericks’ Josh Howard(notes) and a small expiring contract. There were strong signals on late Thursday that deal was getting close, but one source with knowledge of the talks said that Mavs owner Mark Cuban wasn’t prepared to commit to the move and wanted to keep shopping. ---------- this would allow Washington to keep Haywood and dump stevenson, and at least argue to fans that Howard is roughly equal in talent to Butler. It's a simpler deal that could subject them to less criticism. (but do they really want to take on the sometimes troublesome Howard?) Howevuh, the potential 3 way deal with Hou and NY would presumably also allow them to dump stevenson. While it costs them Haywood, it nets them Harrington, Buddinger (or other young talent), cash, and maybe draft picks. IMO, Washington would be fools to do the Dallas deal. In fact, they should probably be in full tank mode to get more ping pong balls.
