so from the wiz side it has to be haywood, butler, and more than likely stevenson...but i dont think that adds up high enough....i think that's just under 20 mill...unless you replace stevenson with miller, then that's like 26 mill, tmac + scola = 26 mill, right? What are the chances we just ship out scola since this is a wasted year anyway, and pick him up with the midlevel this summer? Would that be possible?
If by age, you mean "Age, defense, health, field goal percentage (look at his true TS% in particular), rebounding, assists..." etc. Most important ones in bold. The contract situation with Butler is a lot better, but don't act like he's a better player than Iggy, because he's not. Still, this is an okay trade if it's the best we can get done.
Is this possible? NY: Rockets 14th pick / Brooks / Scola / McGrady / Lowry / Cook Houston: Bosh / Turkoglu / Curry / Jeffries / Hill / Douglas Toronto: Lee / Gallinari / Landry / Ariza / Draft rights to Llull - Houston Durant 2011?
iggy is not a better defender than butler, you could argue they are even, in different ways, but iggy is not better. And butler is healthy, he doesnt thave any chronic injuries.
Iggy is not the better player. They are on the same level if anything. FG%s throughout their careers are similar, they are about the same defensively, and neither are great playmakers.
If Yao comes back strong and Les is willing to spend MLE, the team is a contender. Lowry/AB/MLE Butler/AB/CBud Ariza/Battier/Cbud Landry/Scola/Dorsey Yao/Haywood/Andersen/Dorsey Deep at every position.
Houston Gets: Haywood Butler Stevenson NY Gets: McGrady Washington Gets: Harrington Hughes Gets us under the tax this year.
i have no clue, i follow the basketball side, the financial side not neraly as much...but i do believe durant is tied up past 2011.
No just realize the biggest trade in NBA history was 13 players and 5 times... You will never see a trade with such a bulk of rotational players swapping teams.
Thats not the point, the point is to position yourself. what about Bost taking on all those players for Garnett? Are you saying it's impossible to do or something just because somany players are leaving in entering?
This and the fact they have recently been on a tear currently at the 5th seed in the East... I'd expect them to be buyers this deadline.
so are the salaries close enough for the deal to go through? I was thinking Nate robinson would be a throw in from NY to match thing sup if houston threw in scola and the wiz threw in miller...remember the wiz want expirings AND a young guy, i'm just not sure Nate is young enough for them. NY almost has to give up the young player because i think that's the only reason they're involved in this trade. houston doesnt want to give up the young player, so they brought in NY, knowing they want tmac's contract, to give up a young talent to wash.
