Oh yea im think too offensive wise
hayes would be perfect for defense on PF

so our line up would be

    AB/Lowry
    Butler/Budinger
    Ariza/?
    Bosh/Hayes
    Yao/Dorsey

and im guessing were gonna resign haywood?

I could see this being legit, Rox love Mike Miller and financial it works for all parties minus the fact it blows us way out in LT land but again remember Les is saving on Yao's contract so I'd assume he wouldn't have an issue spending this season at least..right???

'Could see it' and 'fact' are as far apart as Bosh and Cook.

All these rumors are such a tease, but who knows what's real and what's not. I am not getting all fired up to be let down, like so many Rocket's draft nights. When I saw the ticker that the Rockets had Gay, I was so excited. Finally they draft a player with legit potential. Next day, it's Battier. I have never recovered.

    This year

    Brooks/ Lowry
    Butler/ Buddinger
    Ariza/ Shane
    Scola/ Landry
    Haywood/ Hayes

    Next Year

    Brooks/ Lowry
    Butler/ Wafer
    Ariza/ Buddinger
    Bosh/ Landry
    Yao/ Hayes

    Draft PF Greg Monroe

Trade Scola/Shane/ 2nd round pick for Bosh
    Resign Von Wafer
    Haywood walks

It leaves us a lot of different options at all positions.

I like it but don't really know how the money would look... :)

While I agree with your post, I think Toronto waits to get a sign and trade done this summer.

So, does this putative blockbuster drive some sense of urgency into Philly or Chicago or Warriors or any other team interested in getting into the middle of TMac; or Butler, from the other side - Dallas? Phx? Hmm, might a fire be lighted?

Bingo...this is what Morey had been anticipating and thus waiting till the final week probably hours before the deadline. This is also why I would talk to the Wiz but wait to pull the trigger until all the cards on the table.

You lose credibility with the 'Les is too cheap' comment.

Les has proven over and over that he is willing to spend big money to make bold moves. Drexler, Pippen, Barkley, Francis, TMac, etc.

...and hopefully he's learned his lesson of buying crappy contracts. Moochie, Cato, Maurice Taylor, Bryce Drew, etc.

But criticizing Les for being cheap is just silly. It is simply not true.

I for one don't see any reason to trade any type of young asset for two OLD injury prone players(with out them including a young asset in return), might as well stay with McGrady's contract, let it expire and trade Battier for expirings and a couple of 1st rd draft picks (which would allow us to do some maneuvering during the draft, possibly get into top 10 through 5).....

Dallas has nothing to offer but expirings. Phoenix looks to be either doing major trade with Philli or keeping Amare. Washington can kill multiple birds with one stone in trading Butler and shedding salary while also getting value for Haywood's expiring instead of letting him walk for nothing in this deal with Houston and NY. They can save money and get some assets (Bud or Scola) and picks. The other option for Washington would be breaking down their 2 pieces and see what it gets them. But then I think they've already tried and not gotten much response (they failed trying to get Batum / Fernandez for Haywood and are getting offered nothing but expirings for Butler)....

Well durvasa, you kinda went off the reservation bringing up Bosh, a fantasy many of us have had for quite some time. I've assumed he's not a possibility. Since you did bring up a deal, though, I'd like to disagree with including Llull. I have my own fantasy of a Llull/Brooks backcourt. Let's hang on to the guy! Keep him in our back pocket. I'd rather deal Chase than Llull, as crazy as that might sound, and I'm a big fan of Air Bud.

I think we should hold out for at least three 1st rd draft picks.... after all, it's Shane Battier we're talking about....

    :p
