I could see this happening as well. Kemba may not be the "sexy" pick... not that there necessarily is one this year but Kemba is a winner. I love Lowry and I know he's supposed to be our man at the 1 for many years to come but he's also our most tradeable asset in terms off attractiveness and value and he'd help improve a lot of other positions.

I agree, but if we draft Kemba he would be a more tradeable asset than lowry.

The 23rd pick, not the 14th.

I wouldn't. Miller has value as an expiring contract anyways.

This would be a good deal for the Bucks but the Rockets? I'm not feeling it, there isn't anyone going in the #10-13 range worth two first round picks unless its for Valanciunas and since both teams want both, that can't happen.

Players that were drafted at #8 overall in the past 10 years:

    Aminu - bust
    Jordan Hill - bust
    Joe Alexander - bust
    Brandan Wright - bust
Rudy Gay - selfish overrated player
Channing Frye - so-so, was definitely a bust before he started to play with Steve Nash
    Rafael Araujo - bust
    TJ Ford - underachiever
    Chris Wilcox - bust
    Desagana Diop - bust

Is it a curse? I don't like it at all

Players that were drafted by Morey in the past 4 years:

Patrick Patterson- PF of the future a steal at 14
Jermaine Taylor- hasn't worked out just like 90% of all second rounders
Sergio Llull- tearing it up in Europe a steal at 34
Chase Budinger- mega steal at 44
Donte Greene- not a bad pick at 28
Joey Dorsey- hasn't worked out just like 90% of all second rounders
Aaron Brooks- a steal at 26
Carl Landry- highway robbery at 31

Is this real life? Or is this wizardry?

Can Morey's magical powers counteract the curse of the 8th pick?

I wonder who we would be targeting with the #10 pick. Maybe Klay Thompson? He seems like a guarantee to go to GS at #11, if he's still there. Maybe Biyombo?

How is Aminu a bust after one season in the league? Also Jordan Hill? Neither have gotten significant time on the floor yet. Too quick to judge.

I am guessing it may end up being Valanciunas after all-- i.e. Milwaukee taking him for the purpose of trading him. It's not as reported, but with all the rumors flying about who knows which part of which rumor is real.

I'll go on record right, Kemba won't be better than Lowry. Lowry just has too many intangibles to give up. He's nowhere near a "star" PG, but he's a PG that you trust and can rely on. He hits big shots, plays VERY GOOD defense, rebounds exceptionally, works within the offense and plays harder than just about any player in the NBA. He's someone you keep.

Kemba may be more "talented", but in today's NBA you gotta be the cream of the crop physically with such gifts-- i.e Wall, Rose, Westbrook size. Kemba may be good, but I'd take Lowry over him and I'm willing to say Lowry will always be a superior player to have over Kemba. Kemba is a fringe player you build, Lowry's more of a compliment piece, but Kemba's just not THAT talented to build around if you want to win a championship. You have warriors on your team to win rings, players like Lowry.

I would say that Kemba is a warrior too...

Many of the latest trade rumors involving Houston seem to be one-sided. Neither favor Houston.

Bill Simmons: Daryl hasn't been returning texts.

Chad Ford: yeah, he's been busy.

    :D

That's a lot to trade up for. #14 & #23 for 10. I'd want to squeeze into the top 8 by giving up BOTH picks. I'm curious on who we'd pursue. I think Milwaukee is after Burks, but are afraid a team above him will take him. Klay Thompson looks like a sleek prospect too.

I'd say Lowry is a bigger one. Lowry probably gets beat out by every starting PG talent wise, but will always in matchups(head to head) even it out with just pure effort. It's hard to find a PG that plays better defense, rebounds better, and hits such big shots. He was really clutch towards the end of last season. Once he got the starting spot, it was at the point that he was confident to go head-to-head with any PG in the league. He's like a lesser, more athletic version of Billups in my opinion.

    A very safe player.
