So we go after Gortat in the offseason but don't sign him because the price is way too high. Instead we sign Ariza, who is salary dumped a year later, and we also sign Brad Miller to an albatross contract. Now the proposal is that we trade for Gortat, who by the way still has that same overpriced contract, leaving us with two expensive crappy centers? Well played Morey, well played.
Yes, he would. This would be a GREAT move. I would feel good about the Rockets again if this were to happen. Good centers don't grown on trees. DEFENSE!
Did you even know the real reason Courtney Lee left Orlando?? Haha, he blew that last second wide open layup that could have evened the series. I honestly doubt he is going back there anytime soon. And what is this obsession on the Rox part with undersized players at most positions. Yup, I know they come cheaper with less attitude, and might get lucky every now and then, but "what have they done for me lately"
I sure hope we don't give up Lee. He's a two way player, who plays smart and is efficient and gives it to us on both ends. We want to add Gortat without giving up much. The pieces that are movable for Gortat should be CBud and Hill. Hill is not going to be much more than he is now, a tall gangly athletic presence in the paint who is a garbage man on offense. If we can bring in Gortat and lose Hill in the process, I am all for it. We've still got the move for Anthony Randolph that I am waiting and dying to go down. I would take a big man rotaion of: Gortat, Scola, Randolph, Patterson, Hayes and go to battle with that for this season. On another note, I was watching Sacramento play last night. On one play the popped Cousins up to the high post and ran Udrih off a curl. Cousins faced up and found Udrih perfectly for the layup. I can only hope and dream Gortat could do that at the high post as well.
That seems more reasonable with recent speculation. I mean Washington wants to get rid of Gilberts contract so why would they take on a bigger commitment on Rashard? If Budinger leaves I hope it's on an Eastern Conference team.
Gortat would be freaking awesome. Albeit a small sample size (6 games including one playoff game), Gortat has put up 11.8rpg 2bpg and 9.5ppg as a starter. I think this guy just needs a chance.
This is RETOOLING the team on the fly! He would be a solid pick up. Hoping Morey gets this done some how.
He isn't fundamentally sound on offense. He has trouble making layups. Defensively,he seems to be pretty good.
Yeah, offense is not his strength, but that's not what we need. We need a defensive minded center who can grab a freaking rebound.
Like this guy <img src="http://www.nba.com/media/act_dikembe_mutombo.jpg"> If Gortat is half as good, it sud be fine
How quickly things are starting to get rolling: trading for TWill, Yao out for the season, and now the team may be getting a much needed Center. I hope this will be any early Christmas present for the fans.
