Good catch, makes sense if they rather have immediate savings. If they can move Lewis for Arenas it would make them very happy but if the Wiz want Carter then instant savings might suit them better to save some cost this season knowing they will be in cap hell for quite a while.
I don't believe Magic would bite just for Battier. Maybe with a pick or two (have to be obv protected)?
Sounds like Roy is complaining about playing with Miller, so they could offer Miller for Gortat but they already have Camby. Not sure giving up your starting PGuard for a backup center makes much sense. With the Rox he would be our starting center, makes more sense here but of course I am viewing it through my Rocket colored glasses.
it'll make it easier to give up on yao, which this team needs to do...Start Gortat at center and make a run at Iggy. Sounds like Morey is ready to jump in to facilitate the arenas to magic deal...
Well something is going down VERY soon, whether it involves the Rox is a different story. http://www.orlandopinstripedpost.co...serious-trade-talks-could-announce-major-deal
Can we use Ariza TE to acquire Gortat? We will throw in the 2012 NY first round pick (lottery protected) and Orlando get instant lux. tax relief. According to ESPN trade machine both the Ariza TE and Gortat current year salary is $6.3m
I was thinking of something very similar, except with fewer players going to Washington. Remember, the Wizards will have to waive their own players in order to take back players in trade, even if they intend to waive some of those new players. Orlando gets: Gilbert Arenas Houston gets: Marcin Gortat Washington gets: Mickael Pietrus, Chris Duhon, Jared Jeffries Still, I have reservations about paying that much for Gortat when we really don't know how he'll handle starter's minutes. I'm guessing that Morey probably offered him a contract similar to what Brad Miller got this summer (but maybe more years). If it turns out that Gortat is a terrible starting center, he could become an albatross contract for several years. But I'll trust Morey to make that decision.
I think if there was an imminent trade that Morey would be on the phone and not being a guest at the game telecast. I don't think we are involved, but I wouldnt mind getting Gortat.
